Now if we can just get Barlow to sit on the bench and start Gore...

We should climb to 3-13 this year!

Rack us!

Check the schedule. The Colts head to San Fran this week. That o/u could be 1.

Rush- I can't wait... I'm hoping that televise that as the AFC game out here... but I doubt it. Don't get to see the Colts play that much... Other than prime time games- I think the last televised regular game I saw was when Harbaugh was still their QB

Smith is probably wondering who the fucking fag is that sent him a windchime with the Andy Warhol "LOVE" symbol hanging from it.

I've got one guess as to who did it...

the truth
Nope. Not dead.

This game really should depend on Barlow and the run game .

Too bad for Smith that the team doesn't have a run game .

BBMarley, they're showing the game in SoCal, so it's probably the national game.

Barlow blows. Experiment over. Gore has shown far more explosiveness, evasiveness and pro running-style than Barlow ever has. Don't know why the coaches were ever high on a guy that's 6 feet+ and runs straight up at the line.

I didn't get to see Alex Smith play much in college. But if he really was worth the first overall pick, Nolan needs to keep throwing him out there to learn on the job in real time. Much like the announcers and several other talking heads said during and after that game yesterday, it's a big difference between learning in a game situation and learning in practice.

I am thankful that Jim Mora did that with Peyton. Sure for the first season, it wasn't pretty. But once he got accustomed to the NFL speed, and some quality players, such as Edgerrin James, Reggie Wayne, were brought in around him, he became what he is now. If Gore can turn into a serious running threat, like he slowed a flash of yesterday, and some quality receivers can be brought in to compliment Gore, then Smith will be pretty good.

Yesterday he was thrown into the fire against the fastest, stingiest defense in the league. Not his fault.

Rushville, how soon they all forget. Manning not only threw three picks in his first game, but was essentially a laughing-stock among this crowd. Everyone was piling on him, saying that Indy wasted the pick and should have gone with Ryan Leaf. Remember?

It's just one fucking game. Also, let's not forget that not only does Indy have a fearsome pass rush, but the 49ers had one lineman DIE this year, Jonas Jennings, the starting left tackle (the side Freeney rushes from) is out and Smith doesn't have a stud running back to hand off to. So the guy's getting the full-on baptism by fire treatment and is running for his life.

I'd agree except I never thought much of Smith in college. He was a product of Urban Meyers system. He also beneffited from playing UNLV,SDSU,BYU,and the rest of the shitty Mountain Worst conference.

Rush- but Peyton was an exeption (Ben as well)... Alot of QB's that don't have the chance to hold the clipboard for a while and get slowly integrated into the system implode (I.E- Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, etc..)

I know it was only one game- I was just giving m2 shit b/c he has been talking up Alex Smith like once he came in the Niners weren't going to suck anymore. :D

No. No, I don't remember that at all. Leaf pretty much flamed out on contact with the NFL.

We don't talk about it much....
I think Mike is refering to the clones who mindlessly parroted Jim Rome's post draft take that Ryan Leaf (SoCal and "Good Jungle Guy") was a better pick than Peyton Manning. Obviously Rome has changed his tune.
