PSU Trip Report

That's where we fail. Watching the game on TV, I have never seen such a coordinated fan support, especially from the student body. The folks at Ohio Stadium tend to keep their seats. I've worked plenty of home games in Columbus throughout the years and I was always dismayed when a fan would ask me: "Could you tell the guys in front of us to sit down. They're blocking our view."When we entered the seating section, all we could see was white. White t-shirts from the student section. Very impressive. Penn State does a much better job encouraging their students to attend the games, and seating them in a way that they can be an effective influence on the game. Ohio State treats its alumni and corporate types better than its students. Its a shame, really.
RACK 88.
I've been looking forward to your tale ever since I saw the spectacle on TV last night. It looked freaking amazing. I'm sure it was an unbelievable experience.
Thanks for the story.
Beautiful.

I dropped two of them when they got too close to my sandwich, and they ran away, screaming FUCK THE BUCKEYES. I had to rack them.
Beautiful.
Wow! Another great read from 88.
Myself: just like I was for the 2002 Nebraska game, I was at a wedding for this game. I guess PSU's going to be having some more big games under the lights, though...if this type of team is here to stay.
I managed to get to the bar to watch the game for the last half of the 4th quarter. PSU's DL really stepped up on those last three drives. I was worried about the DL, particularly against OSU and Minny...but they have proved to be good enough to make a big difference.
Posluszny's sack was fucking awesome. I was basically screaming at that point. My mom and her sisters, all big PSU fans, had made their way to the bar also. We had a nice clump of folks watching the final few minutes and making tons of noise.
PSU and OSU have developed a nice conference rivalry over the years. It has evolved from blowing each other out every year, to a little OSU run during PSU's bad years...and who can say where it will go from here? It looks to me as if PSU might be strong again for a few years.
I've always had a great deal of respect for OSU and Buckeye fans. The last time I attended the game, in 2003, I had some nice talks with OSU fans outside of the stadium just prior to the game. It's good to have a budding rivalry, particularly with a program that you respect.

Most excellent read, 88. Mucho rackos. I was at Minute Maid Park watching my beloved 'Stros so I missed the game, but caught it on the re-run late last night. Awesome friggin' game, although I was rooting for Ohio State to help our strength of schedule.
For some reason it just feels good having PSU back in dominance. I grew up watching coach P and his teams on the airwaves, and hell...I just love the uni's. Once a televised PSU game hits the TV with snow on the field I'll be all smiles and shit.

You know it! Jordan has probably enjoyed PSU's down years from the comfort of a padded room. Maybe they'll let him out again now...we'll need him against UM.I was on the lookout for Jordan. Thankfully, he was nowhere to be found. I suspect he is incarcerated in some juvenile detention center or something.

Re: PSU Trip Report
Awesome read, 88. I laughed here:
and here:Then, they started screaming FUCK THE BUCKEYES (clap, clap, clap-clap-clap) over and over. I farted in their general direction.
and here:stomping a new mudhole
and a lot here:Two more skirmishes occurred in the next 45 minutes, but we were prepared. The idiot leading the first charge was doused with an entire cooler full of melting ice and water. Poor bastard probably has pneumonia as we speak.
and here:Later, as we were going up the ramp to our seats, the medical personnel were strapping a girl to a cart. She had obviously passed out from booze. Someone put a full bottle of Yuengling between her legs, which I thought was a nice touch.
It sounds like a European soccer game, with far less faggotry

Great read 88!!
Went to BSU's homecoming yesterday against Portland State. The Parade was enjoyable with everyone tossing candy to the crowd. Plenty of twenty something hotties in the sororities. Didn't seem like too many Portland State fans made the 400 mile trip, they must have expected a slaughter. But the Vikings made a game of it and held BSU to 21 points (on 480 yards) and were driving as late as 2 minutes to go to tie the score. Final score was 21-14.
Most of the 30,000 stayed until the end, ended up waiting for 20 minutes for the stairways in the upper deck to become unclogged. There is a perfect view behind the general admission stands of the walkway to the locker room and several of the BSU fans were cheering the Portland State players as they came off the field, so I joined in and the players appreciated it, high fiveing the fans as they headed to the locker room.

That was great 88, RACK IT.
Phenominal game and your mention of their kids wearing white and doing the bounce thing was downright spooky on television.
I thought I was watching a video from The Cure.

I've said it here before, and I will again. Happy Valley was the best roadie I've ever been to. Great fans. Great atmosphere. Sure we won when I went there, but the fans could not have been classier. I've never been congratulated more by the home fans as I was that weekend. That night at the Ratskelar (I think that's what it was called), a group of pSU fans bought us a gase of Rolling Rock. Too cool.
Props to Penn State.

Even if PSU were to go 0-5 to finish this year, which I doubt will happen, it has been great to see so much school spirit from the fan base, after a long downturn. Over the past 5 years, the Beav has been tomb-like at times...which has been really disappointing.
It looks like that is in the past, at least for this season. I sense a brutal determination with this team.
