Thoughts on this weekends games....
First off, MAJOR props to the following teams....
Penn State.... Their 5-0 start was no fluke. They are for real.
Texas........They are also for real. Beter than I thought.
Georgia.....No one else seems to give them any love, so I will.
Iowa.....Startin' to come together!
Texas Tech...... Winning in Lincoln is still an accomplishment.
Season over for the following teams...
Iowa State......Season ends for them the 2nd week of September when they play their Super Bowl against Iowa. Too bad they quit playing after that game.
Ohio State..... Another team that beat Iowa. Too bad the Luckeyes decided they were too cool (again) to play a non-conference road game and maybe they would have been better prepared for the Happy Valley atmosphere.
Meechigan....... 3 losses = season over for them.
Texas A&M...... Holy fuck they suck!
Tennessee...... No one gets less out of their talent than Phillip Fulmer- the most overrated coach in college football. Well, Maybe Lloyd Carr does, but it's a close race.
Oklahoma...... Looks like Bomar picked the wrong sport!
Purdue....... Joe Tiller is WAY overrated as a coach. His team is NEVER mentally prepared in crunch time.
GO HAWKS!

Worst thing about this weekend's action has to be this dirty play from the BC/UV game. Sad.

buh bye dolt...
good god...at least mTard has backed off somewhat...but Iowa wins two games against two shitty teams and you are ready to proclaim them as being back?

Did you really just swing that limp-wristed shit at someone on this board and expect a laugh...? I'm starting to think that this is a Crown troll.campinfool wrote:Let me win please. And the winner for Worst Smack Talker Ever goes to.....
.....(drumroll please).....
BUCKEYE_IN_SC
Props SC! What has he won? A new SUV donated by Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel. The same one originally bought for former Buckeye Maurice Clarett. Now SC can roll in style just like the players of his favorite team.

I agree with JON's points about Fulmer, Carr, Georgia, ATM, and Purdue.
Purdue should have made waves this year but instead has lost ground, they now lose handily rather than in squeaker after squeaker. Tiller is an overrated coach of a team with no balls.
Considering Tenn is still one of the better teams in the country I gotta give the nod to Fulmer over Carr. Tenn underachieves but not to the extreme that Mich does. Having top10 talent and not being top25 is absurd.
Georgia will have a difficult time running the board in the SEC but they should be getting more mention than they are, they are very solid on both sides. I can see a scenario where we have four undefeated BCS-conference teams.
For all the talk when Fran took over(and I was one of the talkers) what has ATM done? Anyone could have gotten a team with ATM's resources to this playing level. Maybe the karma from how he did the kids in bama is coming back on him.

Actually, SC......we both were overhyped and I'm not sure how anyone could argue otherwise.
Danimal,
I agree with you on A&M. With their talent, I'd say they've underachieved. Karma can be a bitch sometimes! As for Purdue, your line about them having no balls pretty much sums up a Joe Tiller coached team.

Well losing 25-22 to the #2 team in the country (a game in which it COULD HAVE went either way) but didn't and tOSU lost, and losing on the road at Happy Valley by 7 when your defense held PSU without a 1st down for 22 minutes of the second half (when they had the ball) is a bitter pill but does not necessarily mean overhyped...
I mean losing to two top 10 teams AT THIS POINT by 10 total points...not so sure overhyped is the word I would use...perhaps underoffensed?
now Team Bumblebee...scores 3 against ISU...yes, the same ISU who almost lost to Army and let Baylor bitchslap them...and scores 6 against tOSU...and we watched with glee as Tate spiked the ball after getting his pussy ass knocked around...
now that is overhyped...

I think it's funny when people call someone out for not posting on a message board immediately after a loss and they claim they're a bandwagon fan. Especially when the person you're calling out was on these boards taking their lumps back when their team was 1-10. And it's even more hilarious coming from a fan of a school that probably doesn't have a single loyal fan. You will not find one single more loyal sports fan to their teams than me. Try being a fucking Royals fan and then we'll see how loyal of a fan you are!

No, you're right, you didn't... However, TCU is a ranked team at 5-1. Meanwhile, your squad lost by 20 to a team who lost by 10 to Baylor...
...on "Family Weekend."
Yeah, I can handle TCU. Also, TCU has a football national championship under their belt. What's Iowa State, your BIG rival that you always come flappin' gums about, have?
Yeah.

We played like shit against ISU and they played a better game. That's the thing about college football. Sometimes a team just brings a lot of intensity to a game and you have to match that. Unfortunately, Iowa has not been matching ISU's intensity a lot over the past 8 years. The game is bigger to them than it is to Iowa. If you don't believe me, just ask Dan McCarney. He's even said it is. On that day ISU was better. Unfortunately for them, the season ends the 2nd week of September because they don't bring the same intensity to any other games. Iowa does. We don't play a one game season. Just like the OU-OSU game is not the only game that the Sooners play. To Okie State, the OU game is everything because they'll never play for conference titles or major bowl appearances. Having bragging rights against OU is probably all they care about. Very similar to the Iowa-ISU rivalry. Michigan-Michigan State is also a similar rivalry.
And I could care less where TCU is ranked, there isn't a single player on that team that would start at Iowa. And OU should never lose to them, rebuilding year or not.
