Baylor-Nebraska
I know no one gives a fuck about my opinion, but I feel pretty confident that the Big Red may come out of Waco with a loss. Anyone else think the Bears have a shot in hell?

I sure as hell hope not...But anything can happen. Baylor has been pretty decent at creating turnovers..I've only seen them play against A&M, and for awhile it looked like they had that one tucked away..Either way it should be a pretty damned good game..I'm still debating whether I want to shell out $35 to watch it on pay per view...

Generally for PPV's I go to a buddy's house where it is shown and we all throw in 5$ each, still cheaper than a hanging at a sports bar for hours.
This is a classic trap-game. We are coming off an emotional game against Tech in our road opener at night against a decent team that has had this game circled for a long time. We also just lost another starting linebacker for the season.
But outside of the turnovers we looked very good against Tech and have shown considerable improvement on offense. If we can take care of the ball Baylor can't beat us but that is a considerable if.
I predict Neb winning a dogfight
Neb 21
Bay 17

Amazing what some programs will do to buy wins. On the flip side RICE is playing their home opener due to Rita taking the first game.in our road opener
And I agree that "should" is the wrong word to use with regard to Baylor and 5-0. "Easily could" would be a much better use of words.

It's semantics. If you were a Baylor fan, you'd be saying "Damnit! We should be 5-0 right now but we let that game against A&M get away in OT."
Like I said, it's not a slight against aTm. It's more an expression of frustration that your team was in a position to win and blew it. aTm would feel the same way if Baylor had won.
IMO, Colorado should have beaten aTm last year, but Purify fumbled and cost us the game in OT. I don't necessarily think that the refs have to fuck up for you to feel like you should've won a game that you ultimately lost.

True, but if I go to the sportsbar I have to listen to 45 different armchair coaches debate their "Mensa gameplans"(I'm sure you don't have those in Texas  ). I think danimal is on to something. I'll have to run it past the crew tomorrow..Vito Corleone wrote:Save your money go to a Sports bar and watch it, if you lose you won't have far to go to drown your sorrows.

I heard from more than one media source that Guy Morriss is having a hard time keeping his players 'focused' for this game. Apparently, they are already looking past this game to the Oklahoma the next week. The players already think they have this game won. That's pretty funny.
Not sure on the score, but I'm sure Nebraska wins this one.

I can't believe this thread is even happening. This is the BAYLOR Bears, not the '85 Bears, that we are talking about here.
This thread is happening because we are talking about the 2005 Baylor Bears, but more importantly we are talking about the 2005 Nebraska Cornhuskers, not the 95 Huskers. 52 pts might be a reasonable 3 game total but it ain't happening in Waco.

And as impressive as near miss losses to a pathetic Aggie team are, I am still convinced Corn rolls in this one.Vito Corleone wrote:Don't go to Vegas they will eat you alive.GrizBearStare wrote:Nebraska wins in a walk:

I echoed these exact sentiments in here before the A$M game and they almost pulled it off. I thought A&M covering I believe it was a 17 point spread at the time was a good pick. This is a game I'd just stay away from completely...unless it's the CFB Pick Em spread we're talking about.GrizBearStare wrote:Nebraska wins in a walk:

I suppose it really depends on which Nebraska offense shows up. The Huskers that played ISU and Tech or the Huskers that that played Pitt and Wake Forest. Statwise offensively both teams are about the same except Nebraska has put up some big numbers in the last couple of weeks. For me that's key. I'm thinking It's a close game until the 4th quarter when the Huskers finally pull away.
