Favorite player on your team nobody has heard of

Post by BSmack »

We've all heard about the LTs, Big Bens and Priest Holmes. How about representing for one of your boys nobody outside your team's fan base has ever heard of. Give us some names to be watching outside the stars.

For me, that guy is James Harrison.

Image

Dude is a violent hitter with a nose for the ball. He's the #5 linebacker right now, but he always seems to outplay the bigger names when he gets the chance to play. If he keeps his head on straight, he'll probably be a starter next year. And if he does, look out.

james thrash - very solid #2 or 3 WR- always seems to get open and make a key 3rd down catch and he always is in on the tackle on special teams.

chris cooley- people are starting to hear of him- has a nose for the end zone.

I drafted Cooley for my ff team. haven't used him yet but he is a nice player.

Does Thrash still point to the sky after every 5 yard catch he makes? He was a horrible #2 in Philly. He was one of those receivers who was very fast going straight but had trouble running routes effectively.

Nigga please... he's not even close to being in their class... be it skill wise or recognition-wise.

You're a total fucking idiot, Butch. Did all those perms give you brain damage... or were you born stupid?

P.S. to G.O.... James Thrash is that guy who had alligator arms in Philly, right? Everyone knows that.

Highest QB rating in the NFL. Higher than both Mannings, Palmer, and whoever the fuck you root for.
or recognition-wise.
Best selling jersey in the NFL store. Most endorsement dollars for an NFL rookie EVER. So many bootleg #7 jerseys were being sold that the FBI had to be called in to stop it. Now averaging 20k for a one hour appearance.

Anything else you would like to shove up your ass?

Jason Short- by far my favorite Eagle. He is a back-up middle linebacker and the wedge-breaker for the special teams. He is a monster- goes 110 MPH every play, a huge hitter and a heart bigger than the entire team.
My two favortie Short moments:

1- In an interview he stated he wears contact lenses... he keeps a box on the sidelines with him because they constantly pop out when he breaks the wedge. He said if he doesn't lose his contacts- he knows he didn't do his job.

2- The Cleveland game last year- he gets knocked unconcious. Gets woken up, put on the cart, blood streming from his face- and he is telling the Brown's bench to go fuck themselves... It was great!

Wasn't sold on an undersized DB, but obviously he can play.

Considering that he's only 5'8" and 190, he hits like a freight train.....

Chris Canty. Rookie DE for the Cowboys. Was a gamble in the forth round because of a Knee injury and a detatched retina, but is proving to be worth the draft pick. For a rookie he's quietly having a solid year, and has been a part of an improved Cowboys D.

Arnaz Battle - WR .

Too bad he is injured right now , but could be a stud WR , and can throw the occasional pass .

Yeah -- and you ask your average fan and they'll list Brady, Favre, McNabb, et al as people they've heard of. Not him. He's a nobody outside of hardcore fans. A fucking nobody.
How many Pro-Bowls has your boy been to compared to Holmes and Tomlinson?
He's in his second year... he's not that popular, he's not that accomplished, and unlike the other two, you don't think of him when you think of the team. I think of their D way before anyone on their offense... and that includes the dude who already has a place in the HOF -- Bettis. Not to mention he doesn't carrry the team, he's not put in high risk situations, and if they didn't have such a good running game, he'd be average at best. See also, last year's AFC Title Game.

Oh dern, I forgot Morrison.

Well, yeah, JT, I was being sarcastic.

The real truth is that Oakland has a number of 'good' players, IMO.

I remember a brief interview Al had near the end of Calahan's 4-12 season in which he mentioned his belief that the team has 'good' players and that things will get turned around.

A lot of those same 'good' players are still here.

The team has gone 6-15 since Al said that.

Good players...?
Bad players...?
Good coaches...?
Bad coaches...?

Dumb owner...???

Hmmmmmmm...............

My take is that the current players aren't being coached worth a shit.

BSmack wrote:We've all heard about the LTs, Big Bens and Priest Holmes.
Have WE?? I've heard of those other dudes for years because they've been mentioned as the best players at their positions... Holmes dominated the NFL for years. LT is currently doing the same.

Your guy has been around for a year, has barely played 20 fucking games (this is not a misprint) and is not considered to be the best at his position... yet. Maybe he will be. Who knows... but there's no way anyone outside of Pittsburgh would mention him in the same breath as established elite players. Twenty games into a career and you have the audicity to mention him in the same sentence as dudes who fucking dominated and are widely recognized???? Go fuck yourself... really.

This is worse than watching retards fuck.

Back to the Topic, Brian Kelly DB for the Bucs is awesome. I think he is the most underrated Corner in the League. He led the NFL in INT's in 2002 and he is good for 5-6 every year. Ronde gets all the pub but Kelly is a main reason that Def is soo good.

6th round, if I'm not mistaken. You don't get much further down the food chain. Demoted at the start of the season, and played his way back into the starting role.

I'd say he still qualifies as a sleeper.

BTW, ucantnotbeadumbass, I picked up Big Ben last year as a free-agent in JAFFL. Anyone who knows jack about football certainly is aware of a young stud QB. You don't just shake a tree and have one of those fall out.

He is known somewhat , going to a Pro-Bowl once .

His injuries have cost him and the team .

If Eric Johnson was ever healthy , he would be my first choice .

Beasley is in Nolan's doghouse , but he is another good player , if utilized correctly .

On defense - I'd pick 2 : Derek Smith , and Jeff Ulbrich , before his season ending injury .

Battle is still my first choice .
