Damn, if I had a wedding cake that looked like that, I don't think I'd have made it through my reception alive.

My wife doesn't get sports, never will. Fortunately, I got married in June, when nobody is paying much attention to college football.

Shit...leave it to Meds to pick apart my post...

Seriously, are groom's cakes only a Southern thing? When I told my wife I wanted an A&M groom's cake, she had NO idea what the hell a groom's cake was. I've been to 10 weddings here in Indiana in the last year. Not one groom's cake.

My wife surprised me. I had no idea I was getting my cake. Walked into the reception and there it was in front of the wedding party table, my A&M groom's cake. My wife is the best...

I have to say, that is the first time I've ever heard of a groom's cake. Never even considered the option for my wedding.

No typo. I had my own cake. Then we had the main cake. Anyhow, yes, it's a Southern thing. Never knew that...
Having its roots in Southern tradition, the groom’s cake has been around for quite some time and is making a fashionable comeback on the wedding scene.

Traditionally, a groom’s cake was sliced and boxed for the unmarried girls attending the wedding to take home and place under their pillows in hopes that the man they dreamed of would be their future husband. Groom’s Cake has come along way since then. Today the cake is meant to be a reflection of the groom’s interests, whether it be one of his hobbies, favorite sport, alma mater, profession, etc..

It’s a personal choice when to serve the cake - either at the rehearsal dinner, as an alternate dessert with the wedding cake, or as a late night dessert for the wedding party. Just because primarily groom cakes tend to be a fruit cake or a chocolate cake shouldn’t dictate what the bride and groom should have. Obviously being named “Groom’s Cake” it should be a flavor and theme that the groom enjoys.

m2ool is a stone-cold lead pipe LOCK for 2005 Board Bitch Queen. I know I wavered in wanting to switch my vote to Trixy, but m2ool has earned it.

Like any good board bitch should, m2tard got RUN from this board and doesn't even post here anymore. By admitting defeat in this manner, he locked up the title.

sorry my northern upbringing crosses the southern enculturation line some times.

Stuffing= dressing, ie, the shit you put inside turkey butts at thanksgiving. Hence the term "stuffing'

Speaking of stuffing, last year I told my wife to double the amount of stuffing she made for Thanksgiving dinner. And this year, I'm seriously thinking of telling her to double last year's.

In fairness, it's the only time of the year I ever really eat stuffing.

Sage dressing is made with regular good ole white bread, chicken stock, of course chopped celery and onions and flavored with sage. Of course one can add a multitude of additional items according to thier own preference. Some even go as far as to add oysters which in my opinion is taking it over the top.
I think the best dressing has to be your own mothers that you grew up on. You get married and your wife goes through that right of passage of making dressing it just does'nt measure up. Your bride might give the best head in all of history but she will never top moms dressing.

just saying

You know, it's funny because the first Thanksgiving I had with my wife when we were dating her mom brought out this stuff that I had no idea what the hell it was. I asked and it was stuffing. I ate it and almost puked. 14 years later I actually like it, but you're right, nothing compares to mom's. Now as far as giving head....come on don't make us married guys jealous......
