Powerbook fans! (yes apple)

Post by ElTaco »

Apperently Apple is dropping hints on their websites that the PowerBook G5 will be out soon. This will be awesome. One of the best processors will be available in a laptop. I think this will also be the first 64 bit laptop.

I for one might try to upgrade my G4 at work, but I'm sure the price will be too high.

I've been seeing 64-bit AMDs in laptops for at least a year. EMachines had a model that I was mighty tempted to grab last year.

I'm excited about the G5 laptop, but I probably won't upgrade until the 2nd or even 3rd generations are out. I'd say 2nd for sure, but I still love this machine, so don't see any pressing need to replace it!

I'm a HUGE Mac fan. Have a G4 for my home computer and use an iBook for my work at school (I refuse to use the Windows computer they gave me for anything but the mandated attendance software).

G5 laptop? Damn. That'd be frigging awesome...

And I'm looking forward to 10.4's release (in March?)...

my wife just got this a little over 2 months ago and absolutely loves it. has the athlon 64 3200+ processor with dvd burner and radeon 9600 graphics card. That little thing is more powerful than the desktop pc i currenlty have. I like the apples too alot just wish their was more software/games for the mac or i'd seriously consider 1.

Gear Live published an article about the Mac's one button mouse. Why do they still ship with it? Well the reasons are quite funny and to be truthful I can't argue with em. The real surprise for some of you will be that: Mac's Support Two buttons and have done so for the past 7 (yes Seven) years.

I thought I'd just mention that article for the neysayers and all. I think most advanced users/Mac users already knew that. The article makes some excelent points, that directly apply to the mice but indirectly apply to general PC usage.

The G4 Powerbook has been beefed up. I want one so bad, but the price is still too high for something that won't be my primary computer. I'm thinking about grabbing a Mac Mini just to get a taste.
