Just read the install/readme file. It tells you step by step. Its really easy. Once you have PHP installed (v5 I believe) or since you are renting space, once you make sure they have it installed, you just gunzip/unzip the files into a directory. Connect and the rest of the setup is though the web.

PSU probably remembers more of it since he did it recently. Its been about a year since I did it, but it was really easy.

You will probably have to unzip the files on your pc and then use ftp to transfer the whole directory into your web folder (usually called www or html-public or just html).

Again, I would just check for specifics in the readme file that comes in the zip file. If you really want help setting it up, I can do it. It only takes a matter of minutes once you upload.

you can do it by "hand", or you can see if your host has CPanel and Fantastico. If so, you can create the DB and install the latest phpbb (2.0.11) with just a click of the mouse. Either way, we can help you.

There are a ton of companies out there that will do it for you for about $30 or more or you can individually go to all the big boys and usually
a: submit it for free and they'll look out for links for it
b: pay them some $$ and they'll list it.

go here:

it's a moderately difficult hack to install. just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.
