UW vs. PSU: For All The Big 10 Marbles (practically)

While there is certainly a chance that the winner of this game will not win the Big 10, it certainly puts them squarely in the drivers seat.

UWs defense certaihnly is my biggest concern, especially since mobile QBs like Penn State have seems to give them the most problem. But the Badgers have been resiliant and they do have a outstanding offense and the sublime Brian Calhoun My head tells me that the Badgers probably shouldn't win this game, but my heart tells me the Badgers go on the road and win this one for Barry

What a great game. Too bad I am gonna be at the FSU game and will miss it. I would like to see Wisconsin win but their defense or lack thereof will prevent them from doing so.

Both teams have vulnerabilities. UW is suspect in pass defense, and PSU is given to making mistakes on offense.

The game will be decided by how well PSU can execute offensively. If Robinson plays his best game early instead of late, this game will look good for PSU. If the offense struggles, then PSU's (pretty good) defense will tire, which bodes well for Wisconsin and their running game.

I think Wisconsin is at least somewhat similar to Minnesota. Against Minny, PSU executed well offensively.

PSU's special teams are weak. Lowery is a terrible punt returner, and I imagine that his play will cost PSU a game at some point.

And that's what it's been like. The guy loses these shit games but rolls through with 2 or 3 losses and stays on board.

Actually, you'd want Penn State to win this weekend. You could end up with Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State tied for the top of the conference with 2 losses but the Wolverines would have the edge because of the head-to-head...that all hinges on if they beat OSU and they get plenty of help. It's somewhat of a long shot but it could happen.

Those close losses to Wisconsin and Minnesota now really come back to haunt them now. I hate being 'that guy' but this team could very easily be 8-1 if they take care of business in those two games that they blew outright or even 9-0 and in the BCS title talk (ack!) if Henne doesn't throw his red zone interception and fumble on the goalline against Notre Dame. Michigan's been consistently inconsistent this season. They don't deserve to win the Big Ten but that doesn't mean they still can't. If they win out, they finish as the nation's best 3-loss team...a title this program earns too many times in recent years.

Just like Cooper, he has great talent (of course Carr has done more with his talent base), finishes the season below expectations but good enough to keep his job.

I just wonder, with Henne and Hart coming into their prime, how long can he keep this up? Yes you "won" the Big 10 the past two years but w/o a big BCS bowl game win/National Championship, I think he might be gone in a couple of years.

To the extent that PSU's home crowd can be a factor, this game will probably reach OSU-like levels with crowd interaction. I'll be attending my only game this year, so I'l be able to report on the glories and shamings.

just like fucking tOSU at the Schott...let's sell all or most of the seats courtside to our BIG DONORS...and leave the students a small section near the court...FUCK that...get the students involved...same thing at Ohio Stadium...give the students a couple more sections near the field and let them go wild...

I have to admit...I was very down after the PSU loss, but when I looked back on it and saw the White Out, the emotion they played with due to the crowd energy...HOLY FUCK...not saying at tOSU they don't feed off the crowd...but damn that was something that fateful October Night!

One of my best friends went to Penn State and he used to brag about all the hot women there. Since the Badgers are not in this game, I've taken notice. He was right, lots of little hotties in the stands. Not many blondes though. :cry:

I don't agree with them rolling over MSU! The Spartans have been notorious for starting out fast, then fading and then coming out and laying it on the unsuspected. If I'm a Spartans fan next week, I'm at Lansing stadium to possibly see one hell of a game, and possible upset.

They did it last year against Wisconsin, the year before Penn State and before that Indiana. It's in their nature to beat Penn State.

Have you seen them play lately? This isn't the same team that beat Notre Dame. John LLLL is on his way out and losing the final two games of the year will seal his fate. For the future of their program, he's got to go. It would actually be worth their while to lose against Minnesota and Penn State and hope to find a better coach and turn their trainwreck of a program around. If he's around another year, it'll just be more of the same.

It is just so weird that a team that had a losing record last season and has lost for of the last five seasons is leading the Big10 and is a last-second play away from still being in the national title hunt.

Danimal, I don't think I, PSUfan, or anyone else could have predicted the way the seasn has turned out for PSU. Given the last five years, no one in their right mind woulda forseen this.

PSU's turnaround really speaks volumes about: JayPa
From the starting to the end whistle, how detrimental JayPa was to the offense. W/JayPa out of the playcalling loop, it's crystal clear that he was the shit in the gearbox.

Wow, that was a hell of a game. I was basically floored at how well PSU's OL played. This was the first game I saw in person this year...and I really was able to see how the zone blocking is finally taking root.

Hali was just demonic - totally unblockable. They had to keep two guys on him, and often they had three - he was getting to the QB anyway. Pozluszny was also fearsome.

Props to Robinson...he isn't a great passer, but he's got the leadership thing down pat. It's a real shame that he didn't have a few more years to develop as a QB, because I think he would have been a great one. He has streaks of greatness...and he's honestly a great running QB.

Tony Hunt is becoming a great back.

The crowd participation at the Beav is really something new. They have done a great job with involving the students, and it really fires up the rest of the crowd also. I've got a few pics and a .mpg or two that I'll upload.

I was payback for what Erasmus James did last year to Penn State. I was at that game and I remember when Robinson wnet down the crowd was seriously concerned. He was down for what seemed like 20 minutes or so.
