Great Gary Barnett Quote

Read in a local paper about a quote from Barnett after the CU/ Iowa State game that made me crack a smile. He said something to the effect that he always thought Colorado had a cool mascot until the Cyclones brought a REAL tornado to their game. Classic. Gotta love home field advantages in tornado alley.

In typical Iowa fashion, not many left the lots for the relative safety of Hilton Arena. Instead, most cracked a new beer and watched the lightning and clouds roll by.

In actuality, the storm was about three miles to the west and missed the stadium. Most we got was some 30-40 mph winds and a cool light show.

When the tornado sirens went off, I knew it was a good omen for the Clones.

Yeah, that was a great atmosphere on Saturday. I was glad to see the game get delayed because we were watching the Iowa game at a bar in Ames and that way I didn't have to miss any of the ISU game. Can't beat watching college football for 10 bucks!!
