The only obsession I have seen here is yours and on the college football stage in the conversation Colorado's with Nebraska.Cuda wrote:First of all, what makes you think there can only be one rivalry in any given conference?SunCoastSooner wrote: Colorado has tried for 15+ years now, even before the BIg XII was formed, to supplant Oklahoma in the hearts and minds of Huskers as their rival and have not and will not be succesfull in the effort.
OU/NU is, of course, a rivalry of sorts- despite the fact that they rarely play each other anymore and despite the fact that the two programs have exchanged places in the toilet & out of it a number of times in the last 15 years. Did I mention that OU rarely plays NU anymore? Don't hold your breath waiting for such a contest to become more than a once every couple decades affair, btw... oh, hell, nevermind; go ahead and hold your breath waiting if you like.
Secondly, no matter how much you want to deny it, CU/NU is a rivalry- just look at Corn Fan's obsession with the game score and the win-loss record and division championship rings. Just look at Corn Fan's compulsion to hit thebutton with the weakest of all retorts: spelling smack
Colorado leads the nation in soccer fan wannabes.

Look, I'm not even saying it's a lovey-dovey "we have so much respect for each other's fine traditions" type of rivalry like OU/NU was. It's a rivalry built on hate. What's wrong with that? OU and Texas hate each other, but you don't see either one of them denying that it's a rivalry. When a game is nationally televised every year regardless of how shitty either team is, it's a rivalry.
FWIW, I realize I'm kind of getting trolled here and that the main reason Huskerfan sticks with the "it's not a rivalry" line is mostly to annoy CU fans, but I guess it's working. It's that type of arrogance that makes most everyone outside of Nebraska so thoroughly overjoyed to see them fall on hard times.

"Keys, woman!"
Let's not exclude Soonerfan from that little party.MiketheangrydrunkenCUfan wrote: It's that type of arrogance that makes most everyone outside of Nebraska so thoroughly overjoyed to see them fall on hard times.
Not many people other than Norman College Alum & Norman College Former Student were NOT laughing like loons when OU's program was taking it in the dumpater
