Who to replace Bobby Bowden and Joe Pa?
Warchant is imploding and every is shouting names.......
Kevin Steele being the name thrown out the most. Is he qualified? A LBs coach? Amato is probably a better coach than he.
FSU is one of the big name high-profile college coaching jobs. A pick of litter so to speak.........
Not just FSU fans, but who to replace Joe Pa when he decides to die in 3078???????
Randy Shannon is going to be a great head coach somewhere. Does anyone know where Chud is? The Mooch is available now.
Interesting.

Monte Kiffen wanted the Neb job after Solich got canned. Pete Carroll couldn't understand why we didn't hire him, neither do I.
Considering Chow was still at USC I don't think Monte would have any problem getting his boy Lane to OC. It would have been SWEET.
FSU would have no problem getting a bigtime guy to replace Bowden.
They won't likely be able to take a HC from a current power but I can see them getting a guy like Leach from Tech. With grade-A talent on both sides of the ball and the checkbook for a first-rate defensive staff he would whoop ass.

The reason Kevin Steele has been thrown out there soo much is that prior to the season, he was promoted to Executive Head Coach, meaning he is second in charge to good Ol Bobby. He is a great recruiter, a helluva LB coach, he is still young and his players love him. I personally think he will be the one to succeed Bobby but his stint at Baylor worries me a little.
The guy I would go after his Bobby Petrino at Louisville. He is an awesome offensive coach and he seems to get a lot of his players.

We could only wish. I was hoping FSU could have persuaded him to stay an extra year or two and have Bobby hand it over to him. He would have been the perfect replacement for Bobby. There is an out clause in his contract that says FSU is a school he could leave for, but b/c he has enjoyed soo much success at UGA, unfortunately I dont think he would leave there.

Agree with all of the above. I will add that Steele is well connected in the coaching community and could bring some top drawer O coaches in. He also appears to be one who is a "team player" and I think alot of good coaches would like to hang with him.Cicero wrote:The reason Kevin Steele has been thrown out there soo much is that prior to the season, he was promoted to Executive Head Coach, meaning he is second in charge to good Ol Bobby. As far as Amato he is average at best. Mickey Andrews has carried him for years plus he had mega talent at FSU.
Richt will never return. Why would he? He has a good gig at GA.

Very good at game planning but horrible with adjustments. I also think that your offense will continue to struggle under his leadership. He does not put a very good offensive staff together. Baylor was willing to spend some money for his assistants while he was there but he just made very bad hires. Atleast with Jeffy you can blame nepotism under Steele it would just be incompetance.Cicero wrote:Suncoast, I am a little iffy myself but what is your explanation? You saw him in the Big 12 at Baylor.

Petrino would not accept anything less than bringing in his "own" staff.Cicero wrote:Thats what I am afraid of. We have a good def staff and I dont know if hiring a Def Coach would help his team. I would rather keep the Def coaching staff as is and hire and offensive minded coach like Petrino.

The difference between Texas and FSU is we don't have to fight anyone except a$m for the top instate talent. Anyone going to FSU knows they not only have to fight other national powers for the top instate talent but they also have to battle two other promonate in state schools for the top talent.
We also have more billionaire boosters than any other school not named Harvard. Texas will not be outbid for the top coaching talent

Texass has to only battle A&M. Yeah that's right because Oklahoma hasn't gotten the #1 player in the state of texass 3 of the last 5 years now.Vito Corleone wrote:Jealous are we? :twisted:SunCoastSooner wrote:You keep telling yourself this... because your texass.Vito Corleone wrote: So did Burt Renalds Neither will be the next head coach at FSU.

Keep your billion $$$ boosters cause if you're trying to take a knock at me and my school with that little comment keep trying. It sure is difficult for Oklahoma to raise money with Conoco, The Kerr-McGee families, the Gaylords, and Ms. Walton.

Deion. He wants to be groomed to be Bobbah's successor. Seriously.IndyFrisco wrote:The real questions is...who's going to be the token black guy they interview to keep JJ from storming the campuis with his posse of idiots?

I think Deion might be a decent coach someday, but his problem is he is dying to fail. He doesn't want to work his way up into a HC position like everyone else has ever done. He wants to "skip all dat" and take the reigns.Cicero wrote:Deion was a great player and I think he would be a great DBS coach but not a HC.
Never gonna happen.
