apologies to other respected CBB posters..... but it's that time of year when the OU football Sooners have ended the regular season and all the genius types have begun migrating and weighing in authoritatively on OU hoops boards--never ceasing to point out how boring and low scoring Kelvin Sampson's team's are, why the Sooners don't score on every possession, the obvious inablility to cause the opposing team to spontaneously combust in abject fear, and wielding the mighty axe of pre-season expectations in the face of nothing short of absolute perfection....bring their mighty knowledge of sport and virtue to educate those fellow Sooners who may not realize that anything short of winning 100-6 is unacceptable.

Very much so with non basketball educated football monks we have that roam them all.

Women's hoops Sybarite is pretty much everywhere.

Yeah I would just assume discuss the Sooners here than anywhere else when it comes to the hardwood.

around 1999-2001 there was a OU hoops site that didn't get much traffic called OUHomer's site. i don't recollect ever posting there.....but i used to read it. some of those you mention were over there.....coolm (then, coolmesser), Denver, and quite a few others. Homer shut it down, but i've heard on again off again that it still exists in some form...but it's kind of a closed covert operation for the reasons we all know too well.

a poster tony who ended up mod-ing the last days of boomersooner.net used to have quality hoops takes there....he's started posting at Insider some. i assume it's the same guy, or possibly Tony Sellars who writes for Insider.

i post at insider every once in a while....but my handle is sanguinetti. either i lost the password to KC or it's on some old email i don't remember or someone else has it over there. there is a poster CrimsonKing who is not me. teh problem with insider is the good posters have had to insulate themselves from the "Bob Stoops should coach the hoops team" cretins--that it becomes a bit of a circle jerk (especially about recruiting).

the all time worst knuckle-dragging clutch-headed hoops talk was in about 2000 at oufans.com. the poster King of Zimunda comes to mind, but he disappeared after the Final Four team.

They don't really discuss anything but politics anymore. My posts have grown pretty far apart these days. For the most part this is place has become my stomping grounds.

See, my problem with the Insiders board is that, as much as CoolM, et al. know their hoops, and they do... but I know my hoops just as much (sans recruiting, 'cause really...) and they don't really read what other people post. They're the smart guys that don't listen to other people's opinions. They're just happy being smart and showing it off.

I've quit trying to post over there, mainly because of the good posters, not the bad ones. I can make a thoughtful, well-organized post with specific game talk, breakdowns of plays and why they did and didn't work, basketball theory, and similiar game situations that I've played in and / or seen played and what happened there...

...and it would get one or two reads while the latest post by one of the Cletus' would go through 5 pages in an hour. THAT is why I don't like the Insiders board much. Nobody wants to read anything enteraining unless CoolM wrote it, it seems like. ...and it's not a knock on him. I just have always gotten the distinct impression that he feels like he's the only dog that that yard has room for.

that is pretty much what i was saying about the "circle jerk" above. not so much about CoolM in particular but the cabal. there are knuckleheads who post over there who get all kinds of board fellatio after a ripsnorting post like "Taj is great".....and you get run down if you post (as of last year) "our FT shooting will hurt us in the tournament".

also, as a pretty much every home game child of the Tubbs' era I cut Brandon (04) some slack. he does have an uncanny ability to really piss off some good posters--which i don't understand as a personality trait.....but he and i have corresponded a couple times on things off-board about his education and whatnot. and he's way old school at sf.

I've never really posted on any of the boards, football or basketball. Too many cliques, too many homers, too many haters, too many dreamers, well you get the picture. :D I always just read them for information.
