Michigan Nebraska in Alamo Bowl

Post by WolverineSteve »

I was hoping to get in the Outback, being as it's just up the road.

Alamo is ok, and I think we match up well vs. NU.

Breakdown to come in the next few days.

It's Bill Callahan. If Michigan doesn't win by at least twenty four I'll consider it a major upset.

In fact, if Michigan doesn't cause Bitter Bill Face to say something profoundly stupid afterwards I'll consider it a major upset.

I'm with Van on this one. I'd be suprised if scUM didn't invent a new play where they shove the ball up the ass of an NU defender and carry him into the endzone for a TD.

scUM by a lot.

a) I do think UM is 20+ points better than Neb. at this juncture.

2)I will gladly partake in a sig bet, even though I don't remember winning one.

c) There are no point spreads in sig bets.

No point spreads in sig bets? Since when?

Hell, we had a guy leave the board because his team didn't make the spread. Wasn't that Hungus?

If you think your Michigan team is so great, then pony up.

I don't think I've ever seen a point spread issued.

I may give you the published line, but what kind of sig would I get if I won but didn't cover?

Eat shit scUM-fan, you should change your name to Wolverine Queeve, shut your dillhole before I drive my Carr up it.

You dickweeds play in Ann ARBOR Michigan, the great tradition of Arbor Day was begun in NEBRASKA, SCOREBOARD BEEEYOTCH

We have two drunkard ex-coaches, Bob "fuckin A" Devaney and Fearless Frankie, to your one. Hell I bet that pussy Moelller has even gotten counselling. MORE FUCKIN SCOREBOARD

Plus we come from the Big 12, 12 is more than 10. MOTHER OF ALL SCOREBOARDS

Why are you guys going to even show-up?

But seriously, I guess I could do a sig-bet. But considering Mich will be a prohibitive fave we should get something, either the point spread or 3-to-1 signature odds.

Im confused.

They have trees in Nebraska?

I think the sig bet is easy. I don't know about spreads. But the sig should be:

"Michigan is the real 1997 National Champion"

and vice versa

Leave it to Michigan to bring this up. Are we going to debate this again? Do we need to go over the games they played and how that beatch Crying Leaf almost lead a comeback on you guys, while Tennessee with the still playing Payton Manning never provided a challenge?

The difference is that Michigan fans THINK they are the real 1997 national champions. We KNOW that we are.

Nice try. Everyone on here knows Peyton never won a meaningful cfb game. We went undefeated and won the Rose Bowl with our Heisman trophy winner and Coach of the Year. If that doesn't add up to a NC, nothing does.

As for sig bets on a point spread, I've done one. I remember back in 2000 when NU beat KSU by 10 points, a K State fan did a sig bet with me (he initiated it) that KSU would cover the spread. NU didn't cover and I think I put the sig he wanted me to use for a week (although I remember he said it didn't matter to him since he was just happy KSU covered).

As for the 'debate', I also like to point out that Tennessee won the championship the next year while Washington State went 3-8 that next year. Peyton wasn't the only person on that team...

Can we debate alums on TV? Trev Alberts may have been a blowhard (I liked his comments, though), but Desmond Howard is just painful. When they were debating which has the greatest offense of all time, he proclaimed that the 95 Husker offense was pretty good "when they ran the wishbone"? Wow. I didn't even recognize it when I saw it in 95! I always thought it was the I-formation!

Does Michigan have Joel Klatt playing QB for them?

No? Then that's very bad news for the Corn

The Corn will get buttfucked in the mouth by a wolverine.

c) There are no point spreads in sig bets.
Sig bets can have whatever terms you want as long as they're agreed to beforehand.

Rich Eisen (NFL network) is also a Wolverine.

Trev Alberts sucks.

Desmond is still a bit green, but he'll do alright.

I hate bowl games but I'll play...Michigan should win this one pretty easily. Both programs are far cry from '97 but I think MichiganFan has a little more to be excited about going into next year.

Michigan 31, Nebraska 14

Steve,

1. Carr won an award? Big whoop, I'll take the coach of the decade over the coach of the year in the actual game.

2. Everybody in Vegas said we'd be about a td fave if we played head-to-head

3. Last time I checked we also went undefeated in 97.

Both teams went undefeated against a legit sched and both deserved a share of the title. Hell I still say the 94 PSU squad deserved a share of the title. IMO Neb was better but since we didn't get the chance to prove it and PSU beat everyone put in front of them they should have gotten the AP trophy. And if PSU had gotten a share of the MNC it wouldn't have made a bit of difference how I felt about the skers that year.

Although I think we'll probably lose the Alamo and don't agree with the sig I'll be a sport and take the sig-bet. I reserve the right to stick an emoticon next to it though.

The spread is 13.5 for this coming game. Any takers on the spread? While I think that NU has a chance to win, I want you Living Anemic Whore fans to put your money where your mouth is.

I love how people are going to think a win over NU or MU is going to vindicate something for the 97 season. Two different teams from two different periods. Michigan has the same coach, but let's face it, NU is a shell of it's former self, well so is Michigan, but that's neither here nor there. How would a victory over a team with a different coach running a different offense from our 97 team mean scoreboard for the 97 season?

If NU wins, I'll consider it a great win, but I won't be going, "Just like we would have in 97!"
