Hate, love, like, admire...whatever, you get the picture. Who are the guys on teams you don't like, but you respect the player.

I respect the Steelers just as most old Oiler fans do. Great rivalry but also one that prevents permanently any type of fanship toward the other team. So I always want the Steelers to lose, but Hines Ward is as refreshing a player as there is in Football due mostly to the all-out effort he puts into every play as well as watching a Receiver physically punish DBs. A player worth paying to watch.

No matter how much I HATE the Cowpatties, you would have to hate football not to have enjoyed this dude kick ass.

Houshmanwhateverduh! FUN player to watch. Any true Columbia blue Houston fan HATES anything to do with Sam Wyche. Even if he ain't there anymore. But this dude is hella enjoyable. (Yes, fuck loudmouth Chad Johnson~~even though the Riverdance celebration will never be topped)

Alzado is off of my List 'cuz he was a Cleveland BROWN!
Housh and Chad Johnson....nah'. its too early for them to have the HATE of BROWNSFan. The BROWNS have "Lost" their recent games to the Bengals...due to their lack of talent. the BROWNS would actually have to be GOOD..and get punk'd by those guys for it to REALLY count!
BUT, i'm sure after this Sunday...i'll really hate them.
Bates? Cowboy---->no Love; but, respect in the fact that he was a special teamer that STUCK and improved.

Hines "FUCKING" Ward
i swear; everytime i see that ( ) SMILE...i see a darker complected cross between Monica Seles and RAT'ahan.
i despise EVERYTHING that the Black/Gold #86 does on the Field.
wish it was a Brown/Orange #86.
much respect for Hines Ward.

As a kid I used to like dave casper. He seemed like the all american eagle scout kinda dude.
Everyone else who has ever been a raiduh can burn in hell.
And Roger the Dodger. Hated the boys, but, just respect the hell outta him even though you knew that mutherfukker was gonna find a way to break your fukkin' heart in the last minute of a game. Has there ever been a better 2 minute drill QB? I doubt it.
Another cowgirl would be emmit. What a fukking workhorse. Dude absolutely carried what went from being a dynasty to the laughing stock of the league within a few seasons. And never bitched about it once.

Redskins:
Darryl Green. Dude played hard every down he ever strapped up for, wasn't a shit talker, and was an above average human being.
Eagles:
Dawkins currently, however Randall Cunningham always had my respect. (I guess since he had a stint with the Cowboys he doesn't count)
Giants:
The REAL LT.
Bavaro gets an Honorable mention.
But the award for most dudes I admired (S'up Irie) on a team I hated goes to the 49'ers.
Montana
Rice
Young
Dwight Clark (FUCKER!!! DIE DIE DIE!!!)
Haley (But we got some kick ass time from this dude)
Brent Jones
Tom Rathman
Roger Craig.
I fucking hated the niners of the 80's/90's and their battles with the Cowboys are legendary, but they had a lot of class guys who played the game right!

Maybe you should rethink this stupidity. Excellent use of revisionist history.smackaholic wrote:emmit.....never bitched about it once.
Dude held out more than once in his career. And if holding out and extorting money from your team isn't the absolute #1 form of bitching, what is?
I suppose Terrell Owens has "never bitched once" in your world, too?
To me, Emmitt always stuck out as one of the biggest bitches in the history of the game.

Did he hold out before his contract was up? If he did, then, OK, maybe he bitched a little.
I'm not really talking about the monetary end of things. I am talking about the fact that the cowgirl playbook consisted pretty much of emmit left, emmit right and emmit up the middle for a number of years and it beat him up pretty well.

Steelers -- Hines Ward is a warrior who can play for my team anytime
Browns -- Trent Dilfer took so much shit over his career and never blinked. Got my team a ring.
Bengals -- Carson Palmer, Marvin Lewis
Skins -- Mark Brunell takes a lot of shit also and keeps coming back

Now pretty please, with sugar on top, clean the fucking car.
Dude held out before he ever played a game. Dude started bitching about his NFL situation BEFORE HE EVER JOINED THE NFL.smackaholic wrote:Did he hold out before his contract was up?
So, you claim he wasn't a bitch because he didn't complain about running his overrated ass behind the greatest OLine ever assembled in the history of the game? The one that got him the all-time rushing record? That playbook?
Are you smoking crack?

Funny thing is when your read these lists and think a good ole RACK, you realize the guy is on a team you don't hate.
So, RACK KCPaulina for Derrick Brooks. OUTstanding.

I never believed in saying Barry quit...he just didn't publicize his retirement like most athletes would. The guy didn't want to play anymore so he retired. Other than not telling the Lions why he was retiring, he didn't go out of his way to screw them over. I was bitter towards him for a few weeks after the announcement but after seeing some old highlights of him, I got over it. I still miss seeing him play but I don't hold a grudge.

So- he didn't announce he was retiring, didn't tell his employers why he was.. just stopped playing. How is that not quitting?Shoalzie wrote:I never believed in saying Barry quit...he just didn't publicize his retirement like most athletes would. The guy didn't want to play anymore so he retired. Doesn't change the fact that he was one hell of an athelete... Wonder what would have happened with all the records if he had kep playing another 5 years.
Yeah fuckers.... I'm back

I don't have a problem with Barry hanging up his cleats in the prime of his career. What I do have a problem with is how he did it. He up and quit right before the season. He should have let them know at the end of the previous season, which would have allowed them a little more time to plan exactly how they were gonna suck arse the following fall.

No matter when he does it, better to remove himself than to give a half ass effort just to collect a check.

Then why get so worked up over his retirement? Everyone has an obligation to themselves first...if he was tired of playing, he should quit. He'd be doing a bigger disservice to his teammates and fans to continue playing if he didn't really want to be on the field, occupying a position over someone who DOES want to be on the field. That was a simple conclusion to reach, yet probably still too complex for you to grasp.mvscal wrote:Personally, I don't consider playing football much of an accomplishment and don't know anyone who does.

Would you like to address the actions (or inaction) of the Lions ownership and management and how that might have related to Sanders early departure......
get out, get out while there's still time
Mvscal is right, of course.
The paradox here is that Sanders did nothing BUT exude class for the duration of his playing career.
GREAT player, classy player.
But......
He most definitely tainted his career by the INCREDIBLY self-centered, spineless, and weak-assed 'retirement' that he pulled off.
