Best Regular Season Game of the 2005
The best game I saw was Denver at Dallas on Thanksgiving. The Seahags v. Gints matchup was pretty hotly contested, but I didn't get to see it.
Best Comeback
Has to be Iggles against the chefs.
Biggest Surprise - Team & Player
Da Bears - Anybody outside of Chicahgo who says they expected anything out of them is full of shit.
Biggest Bust - Team & Player
The 'duhs. So much for that offensive overhaul.
Culpepper - "We're going to be a better offense without Randy...err... me."
Offensive Player of the Year
Shaun Alexander
Runner up: Larry Johnson. Imagine the sickening numbers he would have put up over a full season. Too bad he can't play defense, though.
Defensive Player of the Year
Donnie Edwards. Plays both the run and the pass better than anyone.
Offensive Rookie of the Year
Cadillac Williams over Kyle Orton.
Defensive Rookie of the Year
Easily DeMarcus Ware.
Coach of the Year
Lovie Smiff.

Best Regular Season Game of the 2005
Week 2, Skins stun the Cowboys 14-13. Dallas dominated the game, yet got hit very late with a couple of large plays. There may have been 'better' games, but this one was a real stunner, and it later had very large playoff implication. I'm quite sure more than a few 'poke fans woke up to bitter coffee in the morning, having gone to bed thinking this one was in the bank.
Best Comeback
Nov. 27, St. Louis over Houston 33-27 OT. St. Louis scores 10 pts in the final 30 seconds of the game to force OT, and then wins it. Ryan Fitzpatrick (who??) leads the comeback, converting a key 4th and 6 at the Houston 43 into a TD, then onside kick recovery, hit a big pass, FG. OT, win it. AMAZING comeback.
Biggest Surprise - Team & Player
Denver (I picked Chicago to win it's division ;) ), Santana Moss
Biggest Bust - Team & Player
Houston, TBlow (got sent home to cry)
Offensive Player of the Year
Shaun Alexander
Defensive Player of the Year
Brian Urlacher
Offensive Rookie of the Year
Cadillac Williams
Defensive Rookie of the Year
DeMarcus Ware, Kirk Morrison
Coach of the Year
Lovie Smith

Best Regular Season Game of the 2005
Indy at Cincy: Not your choice if you like defense, but what an offensive display this game was.
Best Comeback
Skins over Dallas on MNF: The Dallas secondary snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Biggest Surprise - Team & Player
Team: Chicago, I knew they were heading up but not this far this fast
Player: Larry Johnson, putting up record pace rushing numbers since getting the FT gig
Biggest Bust - Team & Player
Team: Philly, what an utter disaster for them regardless of the TO mess
Player: Duante Culpepper, his season was shit before he tore every CL in his knee
Offensive Player of the Year
Carson Palmer: lots of deserving choices so I'm being a homer and going with my guy who is on the short list of candidates
Defensive Player of the Year
Deltha O'Neal: going with the homer pick again
Offensive Rookie of the Year
Cadillac Williams: EOD
Defensive Rookie of the Year
Shawne Merriman: lots of possibilities on this one
Coach of the Year
Mike Shanahan: slight nod over both Dungy and Lovie

"We fully expect our student-athletes to accept the responsibilities academically, athletically and socially that come with representing one of the top programs in college basketball history."

Best Regular Season Game of the 2005
I'm going with the Chiefs over the Raiders in KC. Back and forth game ended with Vermeil going for the win
Best Comeback
Eagles over the Chiefs.
Followed closely by Washington over Dallas and Dallas over Philly
Biggest Surprise - Team & Player
Bears - end of Discussion
Steve Smith - Panthers are not .500 without him
Biggest Bust - Team & Player
I'd say the Eagles except that it wasn't just TO. They lost so many players to Injury. By the same token the Chargers were healthy all year and have no excuses for missing the playoffs
Offensive Player of the Year
If we only counted the last 7 weeks, hands down it's Larry Johnson.
Since it's the entire season I'll give the nod to Tiki over Steve Smith and Carson Palmer
Defensive Player of the Year
How about these stats:
3 Interceptions / 1 returned for a TD
6 Sacks
2 Forced Fumbles
7 Passes defended
94 Tackles
Urlacher?
Nope, It's Mike Peterson of the Jags
Offensive Rookie of the Year
Caddy
Defensive Rookie of the Year
Merriman just dominated
Coach of the Year
No love for Tony Dungy?
Guess we should wait till to see if the Colts choke in the playoffs.
Lovie Smith and Marvin Lewis both deserve consideration.
Guess I'll have to abstain on that one.
What idiot thought that question up anyway?

...you must have missed our O-Line injuries Scott...it would rival the best of Ratahan's weekly injury reports. I will say the patchwork week to week fill-in's did a helluvah job.
As for missing the playoffs...CONCUR, no excuse

Best Regular Season Game of the 2005- Larry Johnson's comming out party errr the Chiefs-Raiders game in week 9.
Best Comeback- Dolphins comming back from 21 down to knock off the Bills.
Biggest Surprise - Team & Player- Chicago Bears and Thomas Jones. Nobody thought the Bears would be cruising to a 1st round bye and everybody thought Cedrick Benson would be hauling the rock 20+ times a game for the Bears by now.
Biggest Bust - Team & Player-
(Team) Green Bay Packers/Buffalo Bills
(Player) Jamal Lewis
Offensive Player of the Year- Shawn Alexander
Defensive Player of the Year- Norv Turner, for neutralizing Randy Moss like no DB ever has. But seriously, the answer is Dwight Freeney.
Offensive Rookie of the Year- Heath Miller/Carnell Williams
Defensive Rookie of the Year- Shawne Merriman
Coach of the Year- Lovie Smith
