UM's home blown homer broadcaster, and his blabbing and whining about the refs in his favorite teams loss last night! I thought Herbstriet chuckling, and trying to bring the fucker down, was comical. Tirico shows his ass, eventually, during every wolverine broadcast he does. Dude is unlistenable.

When's the last time um finished a season out of the top 25?

The funny thing is that Barb likely didn't watch the whole game because he thought UofM was going to beat Nebraska, and only turned in when he saw that they were behind. Had he watched the whole game, he would have heard Tirico saying that it was the worst officiated game he has ever seen, after the second or third straight bad call that went against Nebraska. Herbstreit was laughing because of the blatant PI on 4th down that wasn't called. But don't let that stand in the way of your typical take, Barb.

Tirico did go to Syracuse, along with Bob Costas, Marv Albert, and about half of the ESPN regulars. For some reason, that school cranks out a boatload of sports announcers.

Look, asswipes. Tirico is a god damn shrill of a broadcaster. He sucks ass. He shows his homer ass every um game! It's rediculous.
They super-slo-mo a slight tug by a defender on Manninghams try near the endzone. The ball was BEHIND him. He had little chance of catching it!
Yet Tirico just rails on and on! And no, Kirk was chuckling at Mike, for just going off on the calls like the fucker had Mi. minus 10! (Which that Homer prolly did!)

No Mike, don't let the LONG list of um fuckups sway you into a more professional attitude. Just go ON AIR, and say that that was; "the WORST officiated game I'd ever seen!" And say it with emphasis! Too.

Mainly because their journalism school is extremely good and focuses on sports journalism.

Newhouse School of Public Communication. Arguably the best communications program in the country. Otherwise, SU is an average academic institution.

Tough call, Missouri has one hell of a journalism program. there are ESPN wankers from MU on the show. And many MU grads writing in your local papers around the country.

depends on focus within the program...and how the J-school format is or is not included in a "college of communication".

overall, for academic research and grad programs, Penn, Illinois, Penn St. and Iowa are probably the best (and maybe N'Western). Texas is also good mainly due to size and money and it's profitable cross-venture with advertising psychology--which is where the money comes from. Syracuse and Missouri are both excellent programs.....but not so much at the grad level.

as someone who has taught a dozen classes in media studies with journalism students.....you would be hard pressed to find a group of people who know less about anything than journalism students. and this also includes many faculty, BTW.

On offense, within the last 1:00 of a game, only the player who fumbles can advance it.

Also, the damn ball was whistled down by contact anyway. Everyone stops. Watch the replay.

Both teams would have been flagged for players/coaches on the field. Offsetting penalties. Game over.

Season over.

The only thing that could make this winter any more enjoyable, would be for State Penn. to do an LSU on fucking Domer.

EXCEPTIONS:

2. When on fourth down, before a change of team possession, a Team
A fumble is recovered in advance of the fumble by a Team A player
other than the fumbler, the ball is dead and returned to the spot of
the fumble. If the fumble is recovered behind the spot of the fumble
by a Team A player OTHER THAN THE TEAM A FUMBLER, the ball is dead
at that spot.

I'm 99% sure that it was 4th down. The ball was kicked to Mi. with about :35 sec. left. No TO's left for UM. I remember, because Tirico went on and on, whining on the air on how long it was taking for the ref to spot the ball after NU's 3rd down play was short. The guy's an ass.

UM then ran 3 plays, and had :04 sec. left on 4th down. The pass by Henne was caught downfield, and then lateralled backwards. The rest is history.

Tirico is just a bufoon, who needs to stay off my basketball broadcasts too.

Babs, you're a fucking douche bag. That play happened on 1st down, but we all know you never let facts get in the way of your "takes". Also, Manningham got his hands on the ball, and it was more than a "slight tug".

All I know, is that the espn studio host said minutes later, (after showing that abortion of a try), said that they were informed that the last fumble by the lineman, and picked up by Hart, was ruled down.

But I will keep trying to find the official rulings for that last play. Either way, even if Ecker's little jaunt was in play, the POS wovereasels bit it to the tune of 5 big ones. Which is exactly what I predicted 4 months ago, after great debate on how Henne won't have B. Edwards to BAIL his ass out 10 times like he did in '04.
