Poor Matt Leinart to the Saints
Poor Matt Leinart to the Saints
Terrible situation to end up in. I think he goes to a team that has some talent. McAllister, Horn and Stallworth are nice players to have as a rookie. I can't say that he's going to like being in N.O. since the city has about 1/3 of its population, the place is fucked up, home field questions and an owner that would like nothing more than to move out of town.

McNair is dead set on coming back. The Titans are going to have to pay him a sick amount of cash though. Volek has a lot of game as the backup. Where would Leinart fit in?Cicero wrote:I bet Titans trade up tp get him at #2.
The Saints have zilch at the QB position. I think that SF ended up with the third pick. I could see them making a play for Leinart. They had him slotted for that #1 pick last year and got "stuck" with Alex Smith. Far too soon to pass judgment on Smith but he didn't look good at all this year.

I personally think they should adopt a draft lottery like the NBA and NHL have for non-playoff teams.

Determining Order of Selection
• The team with the lowest winning percentage at the end of the previous season drafts first in the NFL Draft.
• The rest of the teams are placed in order from lowest winning percentage to the highest.
• The Super Bowl winner drafts last, even if they do not have the highest winning percentage.
• The Super Bowl loser drafts next to last.
• Strength of schedule for the previous season is the first tie-breaker for teams with the same winning percentage.
• Divisional and conference records are the next step in the tie-breaking procedure.
• As a last resort, a coin toss is used to determine the order of selection for teams with the same winning percentage.
• If a playoff and non-playoff team end the season with the same winning percentage, the non-playoff team selects before the playoff team regardless of strength of schedule.

Leinart presumably to go to the Saints is easy to guess.
The next question is, will he have a coach other than Haslett?
I haven't heard anything other than speculation at this point.
Guess Nawlins management isn't eager to get in on the competition for headline space! :P
