Look down at your remote someday.

Thank me later.

B, I meant the announcers only. The crowd noise, the Q-backs yelling out signals, the stadium PA announcer, hell, even the commercials are all good, with that option. Call it my lottery-winning gift to America.

I watched the Jets-Dolphins game that NBC tried minus announcers. It sucked. Then again, the broadcast was in mono, so the stadium crowd didn't exactly fill up the living room. Maybe with a Dolby 5.1 broadcast that might be better.

Sorry it "sucked" for you. I seem to remember rave reviews about it, and people saying, "hey, that was pretty cool."

My recolection was of viewers saying exactly the opposite. You can be damn sure the networks would have jumped on the idea if it was a winner. Football announcers aren't exactly poor. The networks could have save millions by ditching them.

And lasers. Lasers would help make it better.

Call me unAmerican, B, but ... You DO understand that I am referring to less when it comes to TV sports "broadcasters" and that I abhore any and all pre-game, half-time and post-game TV horseshit when it comes to NFL games, especially the playoffs, including some butchered "rendition" of the national anthem, right?

I mean, not to lump you in with Tardowen or anything, but if you insist on pursuing this, try linking a brother up to all the EPIC calls by Dick Emberg, Jim Nance, Mike Patrick, Al Michaels, Brent Munsberger and the rest of the awesome TV announcers recorded for all time on NFL Films, will ya?

After all, TV announcers are fantastic aren't they?

Not saying that TV annuncers are all that. But I always thought that NFL films used the radio guys because they come cheaper.

You want to be a fucknut? Or would you like to be informative? Your choice, since you seem to think you know it all.

Sorry B, it had to be done, for the good of the board.

Nonetheless ... onward and downward.

Let's examine this for a second. "Not saying that TV annuncers are all that." Hmmm, aside from it's TV announcers, not "annuncers," yes, they aren't all that. Or did you mean that, when you typed "Not saying that TV annuncers are all that ... oh fuck this.

Dig your own grave, B.

Seriously, are you related to Jim Nance, or do you just give blowjobs to Bob Trumpe on the side?

uhh.. Harry Kalas does not come cheap and while he does some radio for the Phillies he is primarily a tv guy.

Keep up with the spelling smack. Real strong stuff. :meds:

Jim,

I wasn't refering to Kalas. Kalas is a narrator. We were talking about the announcer calls used on NFL Films. Well that and typos. We were also running some erpic typo smack.

Phil Sims specifically needs to cut his dialog in half, dude cant wait to blather a 300 word description of each play after it happens, often interupting, then apoligizing to,the play by play guy.
Bad spelling is a diversionary tactic

Todd makes a great point. I have the Onkyo 5.1 Dolby Digital. I might try isolating the voices on one of the center channels, then squelch the feed to that channel using the remote.

But ONLY if that INSCESANT SOB, Dan Dilldorf is doing the AFCC. Lundquist and Co. I can stand. Dilldorf is just remarkably bad.

He's loud. He jumps in all over Enberg. He says stupid UM Lineman type things.

Tone it DOWN, Dilldorf!!!!

That's what I always liked about Summerall & Maden. They just seemed to know when to low key it, ya know? Just let the crowd and reactions to a play tell you what happened. Don't OVER-explain, or comment of how great or bad something was.
Just chill, and try and remember MOST viewers are tuned to VIEW the game, not listen to YOU!
