With all the talent born and bred in the D why the hell are these the choices.

The greatest spectacle in American sport...a bunch of old fucking brits get the halftime gig?

Where's Aretha, Kid Rock, Eminem, Stevie, Anita Baker, Bob Seger, Mitch Rider , the freakin Winans for God's sake!!

WhoTF watches the Halftime anyway? Thats when I stack up on food, piss and shoot the shit. I dont know why the NFL thinks the avg fa gives a fuck about the Halftime or thinks any red blooded male watches it.

If you care who's in the halftime show, you probably aren't watching the Super Bowl for the football. Who gives a fuck who sings at halftime? I'm taking a piss and getting another beer by then and counting the seconds till the 2nd half. Did you really expect anything less from the networks than some pop artist/band? This is how networks grab the fringe viewers, i.e. the people who wouldn't watch the Super Bowl unless they have a really gay reason that appeals to them. People like KC Paul or War Wagon fit into this category.

But I have to agree that what I heard of the pregame acts, with the exception of Steve Wonder, sucked stale bongwater. Fortunately, by the next time Detroit has a Super Bowl, those fossils will be long dead.

Detroit was merely the location for which the game was played, and the NFL is not conernced with paying homage to a host city's stardom. I'm sure the NFL would rather pander to as many people as possible, than a few people in one city or location. The Super Bowl is a worldwide event, so they're going to go after the biggest stars.
