I can't remeber the game, but was at a friends house. And to win it was Vanderjagt. I got up walked out and smoked a cigarette. Everyone asked why, I stated he was a choke. And I didn't even have to watch it to know he wasn't going to make it.

EDIT: I'm not changing my grammar mistakes, to many. I was watching tv while typing.

What a FUCKING CHOKE JOB.

Credit to the Steelers, the Colts didn't deserve to get close once, let alone twice.

Why the fuck we can't account for an outside linebacker on the big play, I'll never know.

The Steelers outplayed us all freakin' day.

Slinger,
I remember the game, but don't remember the team....

This choking shit has got to be done, or Dan Marino is gonna have a run for his the "best QB to never win shit" title. Hell, Peyton is gonna have to win 3 or 4 Superbowls just to save face. Like that's gonna happen.

And while I might have not called my shot on this board before the game started, if you for one second think I give a shit about what you think about my prognostication skills (although the NE call sucked, sure), then you're sorely mistaken. What I DO know, is that my shitty-odds parlay card (which NE already nixed) has Pittsburg +9.5. So I didn't just call my shot...I put my money where my mouth wasn't. I called my shot early and often to everyone I knew, and laid down cayshe to boot.

Yea, Dins with almost 5,000 posts woud surely tell everyone he knows but not post it on this board? [/roll]

And Wasn't it you lamenting about Idiots only playing Parlays and Teasers?

Thought so.

Wishy washy bullshit. Leave yourself a backdoor to crawl through if the pick doesn't win.

Dude, you could take lessons from me in calling your shot.

Lessons on how to backpeddle and spin?

No Thanks.

Vanderjagt was right when he stated Tony and Peyton don't have the fire. Peyton's childish smirks and faces do nothing for a team that has a hard time getting fired up. The defense finally did it this year, but Peyton doesn't always lead by example.

We have some serious problems with the "business" type player in Indy. We have no edge. Maybe it is time to get a coach who stands up to Peyton. Peyton is the pretty boy of the franchise and has been graced with being handed the keys. He needs them taken from him and someone to tel him to stop acting like a child when someone misses a route, or can't catch a ball.

I have always believed that Peyton's problem is he is pampered. He doesn't have the composure to ignore his team's mistakes. With that type of a leader, who acts like a little girl, we will never overcome this hurdle.

It's maybe time to consider getting a General as a coach. And I don't need to state it, but Vanderjagt should have left years ago. None of this will probably happen due to the appeal of Soccer Mom and Dad and the whitey's of Indianapolis who have named all their little faggot kids Peyton.

Start by informing everyone that Don Marsh (Marsh Supermarkets) is a habitual drunk driver and has been known to sleep with underage girls. Tarnish one of Peyton's endorsments and then dirty Peyton up. Knock him off his pedastal.

Well Slinger,

I don't know if I would go that far, but I do feel that wholesale changes are called for.

You can't go into the game with the November game plan; it's just not going to work a second time around. I just deleted that game from my Tivo, (sorry I did now) because I'd like to know how closely they scripted the plays for this game, to that one.
The Steelers took the game seriously, and played their guts out. They deserved to win. I almost wonder if the Colts were looking past Pittsburgh....

I agree with Tiny- they didn't deserve to win. They finally woke up some in the 2nd half- but it was not enough. The D came up with some big plays- but they gave up too many soft underneath passes early and the O just couldn't get going until late.

And as far as Gunslinger saying we need a coach who will reign Peyton in.. overall- Peyton's calls are fine. Rack him for having the sack to go for a 4th & 2 at his own 35 b/c he knew the team was down by 18 and needed to put points up.

So, you're basing your offensive strategy on me being off by one point on my prediction?

Tony Dungy would be proud of you.
Dinsdale wrote:I honestly believe the Skins have NO CHANCE...and trust me, I don't say a team has "no chance" very often

So, I call my shot in an EXTREMELY definitive fashion, but being unsure about a 8.5 or a 9.5 spread when it comes to laying down money makes me "wishy washy?"

Priceless. I guess it's a to-MAY-to to-MAH-to thing... I said 9 or 10 points, and it was 10...you call that "leaving a backdoor crawlthrough," I call that being within one point of absolutely NAILING it. Semantics, I guess. Sure, I guess I was "wishy washy" whether it would be a 9 or 10 point game -- hang your hat on that one, bud.

Wasn't it you lamenting about Idiots only playing Parlays and Teasers?
No. I think you have me confused with someone else. Although I do think parlays are a low-odds way to go, I've never commented on teasers. Parlays do kind of suck, which is why I'll only throw about $5 at a 4 or 5 event ticket. If I was that interested in making a fortune off betting, I'd call a booky. But since here in Oregon, I can go into virually any store in the state and buy a parlay ticket, it makes it an easy and convenient way to put "a little fun" on the games.

So yes, think what you like -- I very much called my shot.

Because that's what Pittsburg expected him to do. It goes right along with his old strategy in Tampa of running Alstott up the middle on 4th and long with no timeouts left.

I honestly was thinking that the fix was in for this game.

There's no excuse for overturning that INT. He firmly possessed the ball, and his leg knocked it out as he rose. No other conclusion is possible - honestly.

Then...the Bettis fumble. He has two hands on the ball, and takes one off..FUCK! Why not kneel right there?

Then, that RIDICULOUS FG try. That was the worst FG try I've seen all season...improbably bad.

PGH owned this game. If they had lost, I would have had a total and complete meltdown.

Last wekk, Mike Carey explained after the same deal in the Skins/Bucs game, that if a player goes to the ground making a catch, that he must maintain control the entire time he's on the ground. If he was "rising" at the time, then he was still technically on the ground, and lost possession -- no catch.

No, believe the Colts when they state they play one game at a time. Pittsburgh has been a powerhouse since 2 games of Rothlesburger coming back. When we played them he wasn't "back".

Now, we took a month off and that was ok with everyone and we weren't "back".

I hadn't been thinking about the Colts much in the last three weeks. Gung ho all year and then I almost missed the Arizona game. That same mindset was held by the Colts.

Tony is a great man and a great coach, but his soft personality has lead to a pampered immature quarterback running the team. Peyton is smart and knows his plays, but he should not be calling the shots. And if he is, he needs to act like a leader and not act like a child in front of his team.

So, whats the game plan next year? Same team, same system, just without Edgerrin? He's not coming back. You can forget the rumors of him coming back due to the amount of money. He's not coming back. This was our year and Harrison only has 2 or 3 good years left in him. The time for action was yesterday, but now we gotta serious problem here in Indy and probably going to get worse when personalities collide.

But, Indy will take the same approach of business as usual and we will lose in the first or second round from here till Peyton's retirement. After that it'll be years in the gutter, because the great seasons without advancement are doing nothing for our drafting prospects.

You know though. Tony may retire, it was asked of him and he said it was a possibility after his son's death. Hate to use tragedy for team prospecting, but....
I fucking suck.

Colts had 3 timeouts and over a minute to go. If Pit downs it 3 times and kick a field goal, that still gives Manning 1 minute to score a touchdown.

It was a good call by Cowher and I don't even blame Bettis much for the fumble. It was just a great play by the defender. In hindsight, any asshole can say "Bettis should have put two hands on it" but on a play like that where the runner is trying to cut back in between the cracks, how many backs wrap two hands around it? Hardly no one. It was just a great helmet-to-ball play. If Big ben doesn't make that tackle, the NFL would never hear the end of the Polamalu SCREW JOB by the refs.

I agree with you assessment on the Polamalu INT. Absolute bullshit. If Pitt would've lost, I would have lost substantial interest in the NFL because it was obvious they rigged the game with that ridiculous overturn. Fucking unreal the refs could do that. I felt SICK watching the Colts score that touchdown. Absolutely sick. It was as wrong as murder, just nowhere near as harmful, but equally wrong.

He rolled on the ground.....is that a football move? He had control. I completely disagree and it is a poor call. Are two knees equal to two steps? That was an INT and same bullshit interpretation of some back of the book rule isn't going to tell me otherwise.

I'm trying to remember what the official said as he overturned it...but if indeed the rule states that he has to be fully back on his feet possessing the ball, then the call was the right one.

You know, my heart agrees with you (as I'm sure Madden would). But adherence to the rules says it wasn't a pick.

Two knees = on the ground...the same ground that you must retain possession of the ball when you're on it for any catch to be legal.

This water heas been tread before. The rule has been applied consistently in the instances I've seen it come up. If he would have gotten to his feet and then fumbled, it was a pick. He never got up before losing the ball, which = incomplete pass, and a really fancy looking knockdown.
