Most Powerful Boosters

Post by Vito Corleone »

Not sure if anyone saw this but I thought it was worth bragging about.

Most Powerful Boosters

By the way Texas has way more money men than they have listed including Tom Hicks (owner of the Texas Rangers) and Michael Dell.

Bigfukkendeal. I work for a USC booster who's worth way more than the guys in the article.

Every school has big hitters supporting them. This article is by no means comprehensive.

One of the more fun conversations I had in college was with one of our chapter alums. We were having a beer and he introduced himself as something or other Burton from Connecticut. I asked him what had brought him to OU from Connecticut, and he asked me what the name of the building I took COMM 1113 in was. Burton Hall.

Oh, yeah.

So who is this wonder-booster that is worth more than 3 seperate billionaires?

BTW I didn't include the Saudi Royal family. They have been sending kids to Texas for 2 generations.

I guess it depends on what you deem "powerful". ND has the DeBartolo's who contribute large somes of money, but they also have someone like Philip Purcell, former CEO of Morgan Stanley who was one of the key people responsible for removing Tyrone Willingham. That, to me, is power.

Sorry to burst your bubble adelpiero but both Mizzou and Oklahoma get a shit load of dough from the Waltons as well.

The elder Walton prefers to donate anonymously and she is OU alumni.
