He wasnt kicked off just b/c he stomped on some dude's knee. It was the arrest for speeding and pot, the arrest for trying to get 15 year old girls drunk and the arrest for speeding while driving on a suspended license. Oh yeah, and right after he pulled a gun on some kids at McDonalds. yeah bro, your brother is a saint. Let him keep on playing. No wonder the kid keeps messing up. Those closest to him wont discipline him or tell him that he effed up.

Even if he didn't do this latest thing but he's been connected with a lot of bad press. A good guy doesn't get connected to the same stuff he's been linked to. I don't think it's just coincidence...there really is something wrong with this guy. Mike is being the supportive big brother but he also needs to kick lil' bro in the ass when he deserves it.

To be fair, I wouldn't bash my brother in the press either. There's some shit that you just shouldn't put on the laundry line.jiminphilly wrote:I guess Mike never heard of tough love.

The shit is already on the line for all to see. Mike would be doing his brother a favor by telling his little brother to grow the fuck up, be a man and accept responsibility.BSmack wrote:To be fair, I wouldn't bash my brother in the press either. Hey, nobody is saying Mike Vick is a saint. But that doesn't mean he should throw his brother under the bus for the national press. If my brother was in the position Marcus Vick is in, I might well be telling him to grow up. But it would be in PRIVATE, not for the press to see, hear and report.

Vick's brother is clearly a bad dude heading down a path of complete destruction. Mike should have given a 'no comment' and dealt with it privately.. I'm good with that.BSmack wrote:That's great to do in private. But no way I do that in public.jiminphilly wrote:The shit is already on the line for all to see. But instead he defends his brother like this was an isolated incident. I'm thinking there is even more shit that VA tech has been dealing with that isn't even public and the stomping indicident was the last straw type of thing... By defending his brother and saying OTHERS are wrong he's doing his brother no justice. His brother needs to start dealing with the consequences of his actions, not having enablers like Mike bail him out and make excuses for him.
Yeah cheers to that^^^
However, MV1 having MV2 live with him is like asking Rick Neuheisel and Gary Barnett to teach us how to run a CFB team.
These problems will continue becaue MV1 will do nothing but foster his brothers already tarnished record.

What's he supposed to say? I'm sure Mike said what he said in public based on advice from counsel. You certainly don't want one guy saying "not guilty" and his brother saying GUILTY before the court date.mvscal wrote:True, I wouldn't bad mouth family in public, but on the other hand, saying he did nothing wrong is completely idiotic.

For the bystanders, the Rozmeister is aware of one of my linguistic pet peeves.
As penance for his sins, I politely request that BBMarley vow to never use the word "than" immediately after the word "different." All will be forgiven.
I really don't care about the spelling/grammar stuff all that much, except when somebody uses some seriously butcherd English when running their grammar/spelling/language/education smack, which to me is the very height of kicking one's own ass. Other than that, it really doesn't matter...except when someone uses "different than"...that one just irks me for some reason. I suppose it's better than "different then," but only marginally.
And I'm sure after all that, my post is bound to be laced with spelling and grammar errors o'plenty. Oh well.
Anyhoo, what GM in their right mind would want to take a chance on Marcus? Maybe with their 453rd round pick, but other than that, I'd much rather gamble on an offensive lineman, rather than waste a minute on a waste of skin. We all make "youthful indescretions," but that excuse only goes so far. If one keeps fucking up over and over and over, it's no longer commiting indescretions -- it's showing a pattern for being a fucking idiot. And I think Junior Vick has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that he's a fucking idiot. He seems to be under the impression that the world owes him a football career, regardless of what he does....based upon the fact his brother is a good baller, I guess. And if the guy has this arrogance that he doesn't need to play by the same rules as everyone else, why would anyone believe that his attitude will change any when he gets to the NFL? And even it he had the potential to straighten up and fly right, if YOU were an NFL GM or owner, would YOU want to gamble your cash on him in this era of salary-cap ball? Me neither.
Hey Marcus -- I hope the partying and thugging was worth a few million dollars to you, since more than likely, that's what it cost you. Freaking tard.

Sorry man, its harsh reality. Are you trying to validate his existence otherwise? There are many athletes that would be bagging groceries, salting fries, in jail, etc without sports. That's okay, but let's not go overboard and say that they would be doctors and lawyers. They wouldn't. Most are from low-income and low socio-economic backgrounds. Sports is an escape for many out of their hard lives. Where many of us get pissed off is when they take those opportunities for granted and do stupid shit. Mike Vick may be rainman in pads, but he's obviously had to work to get where he is. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY starts at QB in the NFL without that ability to work hard at their job. You may be able to skate as a dumbfuck at nose tackle or Falconback (sup DT?), but not under center as a QB. And if Mike Vick is as dumb as you say he is, that means he's had to work TWICE as hard just to gain a minimal understanding of his responsibilities under center. That ability to work is just as much a marketable commodity in this job market as anything he could have learned in college.
Of course, this is all supposition. But to say that Vick would have been a junkie or a street person had it not been for football is not borne out by the facts at hand.

I disagree. Like those with gifted athletic ability, so are those born with higher intelligence. Listen, some just have it.....and well.....some don't. He doesn't. You can go and see any interview with him. He's pretty bad. And if it is your claim that physical ability isn't FIRST and foremost what teams are looking for THEN brains then I can't help you. Bullshit. When you have the ability to be as fast as Vick, to have the arm strength as Vick but have the mental capacity of a rock you can usually have a successful team if you build a good defense around him to pad his success.

You're an even bigger idiot than I thought if you put much weight behind a pro-bowl selection. Fans and players get 1/3 of the vote each. You don't think popularity, homerism and the mere fact that some players league wide might be friends/boys with him and might vote for him?BSmack wrote:So what about the other 13 starting QBs in the NFC?mvscal wrote:The only thing it demonstrates is that McNabb and Culpepper got hurt.BSmack wrote: Like it or not, Vick did make the Pro Bowl. Chad Lewis has gone to a few pro-bowls because he's Andy Reid's boy and he holds the ball for Akers during PAT's. You don't think the same type of shit goes on in terms of favors when the players vote?

You can make an argument for Brunell, but Manning and his 52% completion rate and his 17 INTs don't belong anywhere near a Pro Bowl.Cicero wrote:He made the Pro Bowl b/c most NFL fans dont know their ass from a hole in the wall.
