No, that's why his agent stayed behind. Because he wasn't offered the job. Or 2 million dollars. Or no control whatsoever over the team he was ostensibly to coach.
While the Raiders were offering Whisenhunt good money to become their coach -- more than $2 million annually -- they declined to give him the kind of control over the football operations he felt he needed.
Face it. Your team got blown off by a 2nd year OC who, under normal circumstances, should be on his knees thanking GOD that an NFL team was willing to give him a chance at a head coaching gig. But no, even a 2nd year OC knows that working for Al Davis isn't worth 2 million bucks.

Maybe you should email him, Cicero.
I'm with you.
Al should have sent Bruce Allen out to Home Depot, telling him to buy the strongest damn rope they have, and then used it to tie that fuckin' Gruden DOWN.
Little bastard is going NOWHERE.
He did that when ND went after Gruden. Davis was hell bent on keeping him away from ND and nixed the deal they had in place, only to trade Jon a few months later.

When a hire is made, the new figurehead errr "coach" will have less than two weeks to organize a staff and get ready for the combine.
Then again, it looks like Alice already has the assistant coaches picked out and has dibs on a CB with 4.2 speed and no football skills whatsoever. So it's not like the new coach has to do much other than blow the whistle when Alice says so.

There are links in this very thread that contradict that. Read more, post WAY less.

Your point being what? That you're a fucking retard?
Don't worry, we're all on that tip. No need for you to further advertize.

Now it falls on you to explain why a team that waited TWO WEEKS to interview Wisenhunt, thereby losing valuable time to hire top assistants (who wouldn't go to Oakland anyway), and preparing for the combine that is happening in less than two weeks, why that team would NOT offer him the job, only to fall back on a retread coach who couldn't get hired for the last 10 years.

Davis did a thorough coaching search, as he always has.
Whisenhunt is a bright O-coordinator, and Davis wanted to speak to him, yet due to Pittsburgh's deep run and eventual Super Bowl appearance, Davis had no choice but to wait as long as he did.
Whis may end up getting a head coaching job one day, then again, maybe not.
He's the current wonder boy, but those labels have a way of changing rather quickly in the NFL, as Davis pointed out in the Shell press conference.
Press Conference wrote:Davis said he interviewed "four to eight" men, and admitted he offered the job to one of them, Bobby Petrino -- though he called him "Bertrand Petrino" and acknowledged that it was personnel chief Michael Lombardi who recommended and recruited the Louisville coach.
Straight from the horses mouth you pathetic pack of smackless ass huffers.

Nice thread you fucking top level tards.
He can't even remember the name of the one candidate he admitts to getting shot down by and you expect me to buy him as a credible source?
No wonder Wisenhunt turned him down. Al is fucking senile.
