That poll doesn't prove it, but the squad will. 10-2...book it.

It's US News rankings. Sorry after I found out that it was other professors that rank each other I just don't buy the shit. Maybe a system where they actually measure the success of grads in some manner would weight more heavily upon me.

I don't want to bother reading the article. Has Boren turned OU into the "Harvard of the Midwest" yet? Tuition would imply that he has...

 Skull put the pipe down. It is cheaper to go to OU on out of state tuition than it is to go to FSU or UF on in state tuition.

Granted... but they're getting other perks... like not being in Oklahoma. (Don't get me wrong, I love it here, and will likely stay here, but, at the same time, there are no Florida-esque beaches... Only good football and stormchasin'.)

...and given the amount of bitching over the random fees that OU charges as of late, you'd think that we were a freakin' private school.

Congrats, Wags. Good win.

A bit misleading. Public colleges/universities only.

ND usually does very well in these types of rankings when applied to all colleges/universities. One thing I've never quite gotten about NDNation is the criticism of Malloy over that fact.

Btw, SUNY doesn't have a campus ranked higher than a tie for 30th. Why am I not surprised?

I guess "proximity to top shelf fly fishing" wasn't a criterion?

I agree, lets take the average income earned by graduates 5, 10 and 20 years after graduating from those schools to determine which schools are the best

Translation.....$C would be ranked near the top because daddy will take care of everything.

Why is it always how much money someone makes? Why not have it be something along the lines of the impact graduates make on society. So you sell cars and make a ton of money. There are people out there who make a hell of a lot less money and have a greater impact on the lives of people. It's always $$$ with you $C clowns.

We're going to make money the sole criterion of success now? :meds:

The problem with Sun Coast's suggestion is that there really isn't a way to measure the success of grads of respective schools.

I didn't say I had a better idea of how to do it I was just complaining about this way they do it. If I knew a better way to do it I would have suggested it. When have I ever been bashful about pissing someone off before?

I think he was speaking in jest but...

You are correct there really isn't a way to measure it accuratly.

I don't know wheather to laugh at you of cry for you. My wife actually wants to be a teacher, which I find both disturbing and kind at the same time. Where are you going to teach? I hear that the Norman system is tough to get hired on at. Not OKC... I hope.

My wife works as a teacher's aide at a school for severely developmentally-disabled children. Some of them don't speak, many are emotionally disturbed, most are severely retarded. I consider it to be God's work myself, but the pay is absolutely horrible. She's been hit, kicked, punched, you name it, by these kids.

Right now, she's quietly being groomed for a fundraising position with the school (it's a non-profit) which would pay about double what she makes right now. And it would be a safer job, albeit it would require more hours from her.

would only work for public schools, USC doesnt take a cent of state or federal money.

I'm at least 99% sure you're wrong on this point. If USC allows its students to pay for their tuition and/or expenses with student loans, then USC is taking federal money.
