Give me a break. So you're going to provide the copy of his 16 to prove that he actually got a 16?
I don't have a copy and never made mention of his test score other than the fac that he scored higher than 6. Christ, Dan Marino scored 16. 16 is what I have heard but until it is public we are guessing at best.

How did this information get out?? It was supposedly leaked. If there was no proof then it is speculation. If the NFL is angry, fired the guy who leaked his score and said that the test wasn't graded then it is a mute point. The test scores are all made public at a later date anyway. But to trash a guy when there is no proof whatsoever is wrong.

I am just trying to figure out how in 7 weeks he went from beating the team that was the greatest of all time to taking a test and now he can't play worth a lick. :meds:

Where there is smoke there is fire. Every "expert" I've heard speak of it believes the score to be true. The NFL is in damage control mode. They don't want Mack to cut off scouts priveledges around the program.

Nice flame though.

Just because it's mighty Texas you think it can't possibly be true. Wake up and smell the hypocracy. Every program has their savants, Texas is no exception.

What I don't understand is why people (Harv in this instance) take some kind of personal offense when someone talks shit about a member of a team that they root for. It's not like Vince is your brother or best friend. He's just some guy that throws and runs the football.

If he's dumb, he's dumb. Simple as that. 6 or 16 - does it matter? My son is 8 months old and could probably score a 5 on luck alone.

It is not personal. It is just bullshit. What does it matter what he scored on a test? Everyone is so quick to tear a guy down when don't know the whole story. Who cares.

And TRIX.... just because you saw it on ESPN doesn't make it true. Dewey defeated Truman also.

TRIX is so jealous of the fact that the Big XII got over this year and his gaytors suck. Also, he knows that Urban Meyer is not the answer. So, he takes shots.

I think Brady might score a tad better than that. But hey if he cant he can always have his sister show up to the combine with a Vince Young jersey to support her brother. I guess she could wear an A.J. Hawk mask to make things unbiased.

Yes there is more, how about leading his team to an undefeated season. Beating two of the top 4 teams in their home stadium. How about leading all passers in QB efficiency. How about finishing his college career 30-2.

A score of 16 is not great but who the hell cares, in the 4th quarter when Petey was throwing every blitz imaginable at him he performed flawlessly.

If you need to know more I have a highlight reel for you to watch.

The Oilers/Titans also had to hire a linquist to teach McNair how to speak in the huddle so his fucking teamates could understand him, per Chris Mortenson. I wouldn't even consider him a great quarterback, Marino is the lone exception. All that being said Urban Meyer scored a 10,000 out of 50 and he still had trouble with Germany in WWII so you never know.

And exactly how many of those blitz recognitions and highlights on the film you posted, started with him under center, or that required Vince to go through more than 1 or 2 progressions?

Vince is a great talent, but you're foolish if you think it's a slam dunk that he'll be a great pro.

That won't stop fans at every opposing stadium from running smack on him for the rest of his life. Face it, in the court of public opinion, Vince Young has been branded a moron. His problem is that he just reinforces that stereotype when he opens his mouth in press conferences. Mix in some English Vince.

No hatin on VY's ability in college. He was dominant. But the guy is simply not smart enough and has too many mechanical flaws to be a great QB in the NFL. He should be used as a slash type of player. Create a position for him that can utilize his skills, but VY will never make the Pro Bowl as a QB.

Young is more of a system QB than any of Tedford's guys who have been labeled as such. Whats worse is that the system that Young played in doesnt come close to translating to the pro game.

Young won a title this year at a level where he was simply a better athlete than 98% of the opposing players on the field, that wont happen in the NFL. He had one read after getting the ball from a shotgun snap, who in the NFL is going to run a spread shotgun option? Even Mack Brown said that Young did better the less they coached him, that wont fly in the NFL. Joey Harrington was something like 30-3, was 10-0 in games where he needed a last minute score to win and Harrington didnt have a fraction of the talent surrounding him as Young had at Texas, what has Harrington done in the NFL, and he didnt score a 6.

What needs to be brought up is how the fuck did Young stay eligible at a Major University with an intellect somewhere bellow a 4th graders, hell Matt Leinart only took Ball Room Dancing at a school people are saying is nothing more than a "Football Factory" and he scored a 35.... or roughly 6 times as well as the 6 Young scored (for those suffering from Vinsanity)

Actually, the one or two times Vince looked human was when the Trojans blitzed him and put pressure. They were so concerned with his scrambling ability that they tried to keep the LBs at home and VY picked them apart. When they started bringin an extra 3 or 4 guys in the 4th quarter, VY started throwin some errant balls. Then, inexplicably, Pete called off the dogs again. I'll never understand to this day why he did that.

...or why Reggie made that pitch

...or why they called a counter play on 4th and short

...or why Ting swatted down a ball thrown to him in open field

game's over, the whorens got over on the Trojans time to move on. Reggie, Lendale and Matt will move on to careers in the NFL, Vince will wind up a QB for the Hamilton Tiger Cats

Yea I guess it is impossible for a 6'5 230 QB that runs a 4.3 40 and can throw the ball 75 yards on a rope to succeed in the NFL especially one who lead college football in passing efficiency and dominated every team he played against including 2 of the top 4 teams in the country.

I guess Jay Cutler is the smarter pick afterall he finished his college career 11-34.

Maybe Young will need to work on his footwork as a result of playing out of the shotgun but it hasn't hurt Drew Brees or Alex Smith. How the hell does Alex Smith go #1 and now they think Vince is too stupid to be a QB. Lets say for arguments sake that he did score a 6. When was the last time a University took the lowest SAT score when evaluating a student. The point is Vince scored a 16 on the test which is higher than Dan Marino, Steve McNair, and Donovan McNabb scored on the same test.

Vince is currently 3 credits shy of graduation for Texas in a Liberal Arts degree. You can say what you want but Texas is a tier 1 school with a very highly regarded liberal arts program.

Hey Killian, how many Texas games did you watch? I watch every one this year. Vince makes his progressions, I've watched him go all the way from 1 to 5. There is no way in hell he could have lead the nation in passing efficiency without being able to throw and find the open receiver.

People are looking for any reason to knock Vince down, the problem is no one was able to on the field so they look for reasons off the field to do it.

75 yards on a rope? Doubt it.

The jury is still out on Alex Smith (to say the least) and Brees operated from both the shotgun and from under center, so that's not a great comparison.

I didn't say he couldn't find and hit the open receiver. I said he didn't have as many progressions to go through. Your own coach even said that Young plays better with less coaching.

I watched all of the Rose Bowl, all of the OSU game, and good portions of the TAM, OU, and OSU games. Vince rarely went through 5 progressions.

No one here is saying that Young was a shitty college QB or that he wasn't a great athlete. What we are saying is that he has a lot more to do to be successful in the NFL than take a snap from the shotgun, look at 2-3 receivers and then run.

VY may be 6'5" and run a 4.3, but there are linebackers who are almost as big, and just as fast.

I am not sold on Cutler either. I think there is only one truly good QB prospect and that is Lenairt. ALex Smith sucks ass big time b/c of the system he was in during college. The diff between the two is that Smith scored a freakin 40 on the test and VY a six. He isnt the athlete VY is but he is smarter, thus teams figured he could pick up an NFL system pretty fast.

I think VY can be a very good NFL player, just not at QB.

Getting a degree in Liberal Arts isnt anything to boast about. It basically means Vince didnt declare an actual major and took 'American History :1815 to Present' and 'Geology 2100' for 4 years.

I dont know about 75 yards on a rope, in the QB challenge he was in he was only able to get 1 out of 3 balls he threw into the 15 yard wide alley to get a score and that ball was less than 70 yards.

His own coach said that Young improved after they stopped trying to coach him. Nothing Young did at Texas even remotely translates to the NFL game and that will hurt his chance much more than the score of this test will.
