But why the 2nd seed in the NIT? Cinn, Louisville, Maryland, and Michigan. God damn if FSU doesnt blow the doors off this mother fucking 2nd rate tournament I am going to be pissed.

If FSU would have beat Va Tech at the end of the year and would have beaten Wake, then they would have been in. I thought they were going to sneak in, but they certainly didnt help themselves. They blew leads agaisnt UF and UNC that would have also made them a lock for the Tourney. I think its bullshit that the ACC only got 4 teams and so did the MVC, when the ACC would murder them in a ACC/MVC Challenge. FSU is a snub, but so isnt Maryland and Cincinnati.

I don't disagree about the results of an ACC/MVC challenge, but that's not the purpose of the Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is supposed to select the 34 best teams that don't earn automatic bids for the at-large bids without regard to conference affiliation.

Within the MVC, you could make the case that both Creighton and Missouri State got snubbed. Of course, one of the three at-large bids out of the MVC (Bradley) apparently was one of the last two teams in the field.

As for a challenge, the first round of the NCAA tourney is providing what's essentially a mini-Big East/MVC challenge: West Virginia vs. Southern Illinois; Georgetown vs. Northern Iowa and Wichita State vs. Seton Hall. Bradley is the only MVC team that didn't draw a Big East opponent in the first round.

Maryland and Cincinnati were snubbed, and Hofstra can also make a case that they were snubbed as well.

Of course, you can only play who's in front of you. Others have mentioned elsewhere that some of the big boys duck the MVC.

That having been said, Missouri State did beat two OOC opponents in the dance (Oral Roberts and Wisconsin-Milwaukee), as well as a regular season conference champion (Georgia Southern) that didn't make the field. Not a world-beater schedule, to be sure. But that, coupled with the highest RPI, at least by Palm's calculations, of any team not in the tournament at least makes an arguable case.

Of course, 4 teams in the field is a record for the MVC. Neither Creighton nor Missouri State really helped themselves in the MVC tourney, although I believe the Selection Committee, as a general rule, attaches too much weight to the Conference tournaments.

Maryland got owned by the noles. In the standings and on the floor.

Cincy sucked this year and considering there recent fall outs at the dance, i am not suprised they didnt make it.

If Texas A&M, Air Force, Utah State, ect. get in....Why the fuck not FSU?

Like I said fuck it, all that is left for FSU to do is just win the 2nd rate bracket they are in. Cant wait to get robbed again next year by ACC officials all year long and then get snubbed. Should be good.
