Anyone catch Sportscenter last night, evidently they had some major technical problems last night and they got so bad they had to switch to ESPN News. Well ESPN news was also having technical problems and one of their anchors dropped an F-bomb Live. Here is a link

Ha, I never said I watched Sports Center fact is I avoid it like a disease. I got my fill of them when they were USCPN. I found a thread on another board followed the link to the segment and thought it had just happened.

No I get all my sports news from the internet and your right outside of college football and NBA basketball I no longer follow sports for shit.

I've been a Spurs fan since my dad took me to my first game back in 74 to watch them play the St Louis Spirits. I've followed them when Gervin was there and then in the ugly years of the 80's and the Robinson years of the 90's. No way I would stop watching them when they are the class of the NBA.

I used to feel the same way about the NFL when the Oilers were in Houston but they left Houston and I have not watched the NFL since. Fact is I don't miss it one bit.

Most of the so-called thugs have gotten old, Webber, Iverson, Van Exel, Jason Williams, ect. Like I said the only guy right now I would consider a thug is Ron Artest.

I think the biggest reason for the NBA moving away from the thugs is the huge influx of foreign players who are very sound fundamentally and are willing to do the dirty work. Guys like Manu, Dirk, Ak-47, Parker are taking their game to the next level with the elite American players.

and its not like Artest was the only one involved in that fight in Detroit.

I am disgusted w/ the state of the NBA, but I must disagree w/ a couple things here. Kobe isnt a thug. Yeah, he is a selfish, arrogant ball hog but committing adultery doesnt make you a thug. Kobe isnt beating people up and getting arrested on weapons charges.

Sprewell is out of the league. No one thought he was worth the trouble this year. I think he will find a team to take a chance on him next year though.

Artest and Stephen Jackson are the two biggest pieces of shit.

NBA guys have nothing on some of the things that NFL players have done. I won't defend Kobe because I frankly don't know what happened to him in Colorado but he has never taken on a thug mentality.

The NBA has a lot of really good people, Tim Duncan, Dirk Newitski, Grant Hill, Lebron James, Ben Wallace, Michael Finley, Bruce Bowen, Shaq, and many many more.

I could go on for days on what David Robinson is and has done for the city of San Antonio. If he were catholic he would be canonized.

I shouldn't be surprised by this kind of statement coming from you, I get the feeling you probably took a wrong turn around the USC campus and the results have made you a bitter person. the scary thing to me is the thought that you have children.

Shit trix If I were to write a book about NFL outlaws or about College football outlaws it would probably be in a multi-volume set. Do I need to remind you of the Dallas Cowboys of the 90's or the Miami Hurricans or Nebraska or Oklahoma in the late 80's. Hell every school has their dirty little secrets same with every pro football team.

Do I need to bring up OJ hell I already brought up the guy from Colorado that had his girlfriend killed, who in the NBA comes even close to these guys. I guess we can point to Jayson Williams but his was an accident while the former two were cold blooded killers.

Worshiped by fans and enabled by management, they erupt into rages when thwarted leading to spousal abuse, sexual assault and other forms of violence. Victims of these crimes are loath to file charges fearing that well-paid lawyers will drag them through embarrassing and emotionally draining inquisitions into their private lives. Fans refuse to believe that their on-court heroes are guilty, often accusing victims of being gold diggers.

Out of Bounds chronicles many of these cases. It’s a disheartening and sad book even if you like basketball. In fact, Benedict offers few answers to the situation -- perhaps he feels outing the problem will solve it.

Everyone here has questioned the 40% you claimed. Even the link you used as proof, which was a review of the book, said the statistics in the book are questionable.
