Describe your favorite play in baseball
It does not have to be from a specific game, just a general situation, type of hit, whatever.
For me-
Home team is batting, down 5-3 and it's the bottom of the 8th. There are 2 outs in the inning but they've managed to load the bases. #2 hitter is up to the plate and works a 2-2 count before lacing the next pitch into the right center gap. Bases clear, batter ends up on 2nd with a double. The 3rd base catch had the arm winding for home from the moment the ball left the bat. The crowd goes nuts, hometeam now has a 6-5 lead with the closer ready to come in.
Rack baseball for situations like that.

It's either a walk-off home run when the team was behind by a run or two or the winning run scoring on a single but there's a close play at the plate...ie--Cabrera/Bream/Bonds in the NLCS. I'm a sucker for last at bat heroics.
I like the base-clearing double or triple though...that's a good choice as well...preferrably in the last three innings of a close game. I also like it when a pitcher gets out of a major jam. Sort of like El Duque against Boston...based loaded with no one out and he escapes without giving up a run.

Specific
It was actually several plays from the last NLCS involving the Cubbies. One of the plays involved the fan in the left field corner interfering with an easy out. Total meltdown afterwards.
Can't believe someone hasn't kneecapped that fan for being a dumbass!
In general, agree with Schoalzie. Gotta love the late game, walkoff winners. Add in an occasional triple play.

I LOVE that play. That ball still hasn't landed. RACK Albert! I would probably feel differently had Roy O not taken care of business 2 days later, but since he did I can be honest. Greatest home run moment I have EVAR watched.

3 strikeouts by a closer, winning by 1 run.
Also, a good long relief appearance. i always feel sorry for the sucker they put out there to finish off a game, going in down by 5 or something. And then the team rallies back and said no name gets a W and actually gets to pitch in a meaningful situation.

Bottom of the ninth, score tied at 2 a pice. Two outs w/ a runner on second. The batter calls his shot. On the pitch the runner steals for third, while the batter squares to bunt. The batter beats the throw to first, mean while the runner on 2nd never stops. 1st baseman throws home and the runner barely beats the throw. GAME OVER.
