Saying goodbye to an old car!!
Okay, I've had the VAN for 12 years... It has 153,984 miles.. The oil pan is rusted out and it will cost more than the VAN is worth...
but I hate to say "Good Bye!".
My kids grew up in that VAN...
Between Baseball, Football, Wrestling, Karate....
Taking them to school..
Elementary, Middle School and High School..
Family Vacations, the trips to Stowe, Loon, ...Ellis Island, Cooperstown
.. my youngest son getting pulled over for driving without a license ....
Dumping off leaves, my father in law spilling his pickle juice in the back
(man, that smelled for months!)
I'm going to miss the old girl..
She may not have been much to look at but when she goes, she takes alot of memories...
****
Help a fella get through this will ya!!!

Crush up some tylonols & package them up to look like meth & leave it on the dashboard, glue the key into the ignition, and eventually maybe Irie will steal that shitbox if you leave it unattended long enough in front of the 7-11 several nights in a row

Do you want a new car payment or is it better to get it completely fixed? I don't plan on buying a new rig for as long as possible. Is is just a rusty oil pan or is there much more to it? $500/month for a new car is not something I enjoy.

Seriously. I don't disagree with a word of it.
What kind of car do you drive for $500/ month??Atomic Punk wrote:Do you want a new car payment or is it better to get it completely fixed? I don't plan on buying a new rig for as long as possible. I'm a family man and I need reliable transportation not a mercedes or a sports car. I have a 2003 Honda Accord (which I pay $279/month for-for the next 43 more months).
It's a 12 year old van with 150k miles.Atomic Punk wrote: Is is just a rusty oil pan or is there much more to it? .
Just a guess, but I'd say there's probably more than just a rusty oil pan... what to you think?

Do what my dad did with an old family ride:
Donate it to your local fire and rescue training academy.
Have them give it a "Viking funeral".

any of your sons take dates out in that thing? If so, I suspect dad's ain't the only pickle juice stinkin it up. Wish they had minivans when I was in high school. A '69 catalina wagon served well enough, though.Jack wrote:My father in law spilling his pickle juice in the back
