Missouri folks...

Post by indyfrisco »

Looking for a place in Missouri to go next weekend. Needs to be between Dallas and Southern Indiana. Essentially, about 3 hours southwest of St. Louis off of 44 somewhere. Looks like Springfield is about the middle of Dallas and Southern Indiana.

My buddy and I are looking to camp somewhere that we can fish, but also want to play some golf as well. Anything around Springfield that you know of that is worth the trip for fishing and golfing?

Anywhere I would suggest to camp would be farther south of 44 and hell and gone from golf.

Mostly just big h0m0s. Camping out that way probably isn't the best idea. Down there, it doesn't mean what you think it means.

Ha Ha Tonka S.P. north of Lebanon, MO is good for some fishing and great hiking. Not sure about the golf, but it's close enough to Lake of the Ozarks S.P. isn't all that far away, and i'm sure there are decent tracks there.

One hour or so south of Springfield is Branson. Lake Taneycomo and Tablerock Lake both have excellent fishing. It's a resort destination, so more golf links than you could play in a week of Sundays await.

Oh, and one must check out the strip...Hi-way 76 thru Branson. It's sorta' like a cross between Nashville and Las Vegas, w/o the casinos.

Excellent for a family vacation.
