It could have been worse had the Eagles not been able to get Bunkley when they did. The rather large contigent of Eagles fans that made the trip actually made enough noise cheering the pick it drowned out the J E T S Jets Jets Jets fans.

I'd like to know what Jest fans reaction was to picking up former Mizzou QB Brad Smith in the 4th round. Did they BOOOO that pick too?

Whether they know it not yet, this guy will be a gem, regardless of whether he's a QB/WR/RB. Dude is a play maker, and a damn fine person to boot.

I've just become a closet Jets fan.

Ehh, you're overselling the Eagle crowd noise a little there. I know you're proud of your rabid fans, your battery hurling, Santa booing and general thuggery, but tormented Jet fan had an obvious crowd noise advantage at this event. However, were it a gay rights rally, Philadelphia would have represented like none other, seeing as how that city has become the new San Francisco in recent years, minus the beauty and world class recognition.

Seeing as how I don't live in the city I don't pay much attention to their growing homosexual population but you seem to have your dick.. errr pulse on the matter. And if the fags are relocating to Philly I can only guess that they're pretty fed up with M2's bs stories as well.

Not to change the subject but do know the entire story regarding when and why Santa was booed? At least come with something fairly current or more recent. Believe me there are plenty of other incidents you could have mentioned that carry a lot more ammo. But you're just being lazy.

You hate me being lazy because every other fan you speak to constantly brings up Santa Claus or the battery chucking and you're tired of defending yourself against the stereotypes. Having spoken to my fair share of Philly fans (straight ones), they all have that same complex. "We're not as thuggish as the media says," "Santa was just some drunk guy, get the story straight," "those were wrist-watch batteries, not Duracells, c'mon!" etc., etc. etc.

The obviously drunk and half-dressed santa was booed in 1968 when the Eagles were still playing at Franklin Field. I'm not tired of defending myself because I wasn't even born when the drunk-santa incident occured and frankly it's been over 30 years since the incident and Philly fan has done a lot more since then that carry a lot more shame. Philly fan threw batteries. Yes. And Denver fans threw ice balls at the Raiders which caused a near brawl in the stands between a few players and fans in 1999. Denver fans also caused a San Fran kicker to miss a kick to win a game when a snow ball landed near Matt Cavanaugh who bobbled the snap just after the snow ball hit.

Memo to whocareswhoyouare - there are countless stories of fans throwing bottles, snow, batteries at players. There are numerous storis about fans running on the field, holding up play, even attacking a first base coach. But since there is history with Philadelphia with the Santa Claus incident and the racial issues with Curt Flood from the Phillies and the impact that had on baseball, the media loves to portray Philly as a one-of a kind city with the only fans that mis-behave in the stands. In other words, they are lazy. The fact is you can do a google search for just about any major sports team and find an incident involving a fan doing something incredibly stupid and potentially dangerous.

I'm not defending the behavior of Philly fans. I'm acknowledging it. But don't be so hoodwinked to think it doesn't happen anywhere else with similiar or worse results.

There are plenty of drunken arseholes at Packer games, but I can't imagine the crowd cheering en masse like the Eagle fans did when Michael Irvin went down with a possible broken neck. I hate the Cowboys, but that was fukking cold.

Every year it's the same warnings: if you (skinsfan) go to the Eagles away game don't wear burgundy and gold and watch the hell out. Better yet don't go.

Outside of Oakland I don't know of a venue that has a similar tag.

Obviously you aren't ackowledging it Jim because you refuse to ackowledge the extent to which your fans do this thuggish crap in Philly. Velocet makes a good point here. The entire fanbase has been branded with this reputation for a reason, and it's because of behavior that isn't as prevalent or commonplace in other cities.

Barring an extreme case of serious physical assault the worst that can happen to a fan in the courtroom is the loss of his season tickets or a fine. In other words, it's not a real court room. And the pressure came from the city to install the courts because they felt the police were not enforcing the law by having fans who got into fights being tried for their alleged crimes. The trend the Eagles did start that others like Invesco in Denver have followed with is revamped holding cells.

But if you're implying that other NFL stadiums have had incidents involving fights in stands ('sup Skins and Giants and Jets fans) iceballs being thrown at players ('sup Bills, Patriots and Bronco fans), bottles being thrown at players and on the field ('sup Dawg Pound) then you're sadly mistaken.

BTW.. Lets not forget the treatment Tommy Maddox's home got from Steelers fans this past year. So much for those classy Steeler fans containing their disappointment to within the stadium.
