It would be the answer to his fantasy numbers. Not to the Eagles search for a true playmaker.BBMarley wrote:I'm just concerned b/c Lelie has had flashes, but overall has been unimpressive. Maybe getting him into a pass heavy Offense like Philly would be the answer...

Lelie has better career numbers than Gaffney but they are the same time receiver. Neither is going to scare a defense though.WhatsMyName wrote:I hope you have receivers that will go over the middle then.BBMarley wrote:I'm just concerned b/c Lelie has had flashes, but overall has been unimpressive. Reggie Brown will be a nice sleeper this year.

Actually he needs someone to work the middle of the field to allow Pinkston to stretch the field. As big a pussy he is, he led the NFL in receptions over 40 yards (or something close to that) 2 years ago.Cicero wrote:Im not Jim, but I think you do if you are the Eagles. They are hoping that is what Avant turns into. Not alot of speed- but has great hands and is not scared to go across the middle.jiminphilly wrote:Actually he needs someone to work the middle of the field to allow Pinkston to stretch the field. Stinkston couldn't catch herpes from Ron Mexico.
Why not learn what you are talking about before you open your shitbox?Pinkston's 18.8 yards-per-catch average for the 2004 regular season was exceeded by only one other NFL receiver with as many or more receptions than the 36 he recorded, and his six catches gaining 40 or more yards was topped by only three other receivers
Pinkston is soft, has a problem taking a hit- but he is quick and does a great job getting down field. If they can get some solid short field and across the middle work from Brown, Lewis (yeah, right), Smith, Avant & Co.. it will help his numbers more.

Where in this thread did ANYONE say he is a solid #1 receiver who is going to put up Rice/Harrison/Owens numbers? No one! Pinkston is what he is.. a #2 receiver who has decent speed and can stretch the field. He is not going to put up mad numbers, but he can catch the ball when needed. He just needs to grow a sack and not get the alligator arms..

Ashley’s biggest problem is… he can’t catch the ball! Add to that he won’t take a hit over the middle! The guy gets open downfield as good as anyone, but once the ball is thrown to him it’s a 50/50 chance he’ll catch it. He can be wide-open way down field with the ball right in his hands and still drop it.
Run if you have to but keep up!
