Elway carried mediocre Denver teams into great games and lost to great teams.

Manning carries great Indy teams into good games and loses to good teams.

The next time you see Manning do "the Drive" will be your first.

I have no idear what PUS fan was getting at Q, and neither does PUSFAN.

He seemed to be saying that Peyton doesn't have any decision making ability, thus the "trumping your own sideline" idiot take. As if the "sideline" hadn't fully given that option to him in the first place.

You're SO far off the mark that I'll restate it for you.

Manning has TOO MUCH play-calling authority. That eliminates the input of his coaches and teammates. That's what I meant by "trumping his sideline".

Understand a little better now?

I understood PSU's point and I agree completely with it.

Strangely, every year 'coach' Manning's stature in the organization seems to grow in direct proportion to the numbers in the playoff LOSS column.

Kooky stuff.

For what they're paying him, he should have that authority, and it's fairly obvious that he does have that authority.

Right or wrong, the Clots are getting what they paid for, and Peyton is just doing what's expected of him...which ain't half bad by any stretch.

I gotta agree w/ PSUFAN. Manning is a smart football player, but the NFL game is way to advanced in the 21st Century to be calling your own plays like Unitas used to. I give him credit for doing as well as he does in the reg season w/ as much responsibility he takes on, but a well crafted defense w/ multiple schemes seems to always confuse him. I personally think he will win one, but only when he learns to trust his coaches.

Can all of that blubbering. The thread is about whether Peyton will get a ring, not what they are paying him.

He won't get a ring as long as he's given the authority to call his own offense.

Gee, thanks for enlightening my blubbering self about what this thread was really about...I guess i didn't remember, being as how this fucker was born and died a natural death like 5 months ago, but you just had to reset it for some reason.

Whatever, Peyton is still a witch that will be taken as the #1 QB in most every FFL on the planet.
