Who Wins This Years Main Event?

Post by buckeye_in_sc »

I hear they are expecting another record crowd of course. Last 2 out of 3 years relative unknowns/amateurs have won the event. Raymer at least played a lot of tournament poker at Foxwoods and what not.

Right now my thoughts are:

Ivey is playing well...won the Monte Carlo Millions
Juanda and Ferguson are nails when it comes to big tourneys
Hellmuth, Chan, etc would be nice to see an old timer win this one again
Some good young players Gigabet, Porter, etc could break through
Plus you have a gaggle of pros that are always dangerous...

I would have to say my pick right now is Ivey, followed by Juanda. Anyone want to pick say 5 guys and add up total WSOP Main Event money cashed and the winner gets bode?

Agree with Adel. It's bound to be another Sat winner. That's how they roll.

Probably somebody who qualified through Poker Stars. After all thats where the last three winners have come from.

or so they say, usually somoene who gets in on a satalitte (IE Pokerstars) gets forced to wear a hat or a shirt...didnt see the aussie doing either...

woudlnt be suprised if Pokerstars gave 'em some cash just to say that's where he got in on.

they get in if the guy makes final table

they want peeps wearing gear, so its a freeforall when a free agent makes final table.

Negreanu- A nice kid, I can't help but root for. I'd love to have a drink with this guy.

Paul Magriel-Dude's nickname should be "The Ogre", or "Shrek". One ugly bastard, but a math whiz.

Texas Dolly-Would love to see him go deep in the ME. One last run for a legend.

Fossil Man-A machine. No emotion, perfect disposition for the tournament.

Jennifer Harman-This little spinner can flat out play.

Should do a simple, five-round draft to make it interesting. That way, nobody gets to pile on the favorites.

doesnt main start 2morrow? or next friday?

instead of a draft, just make everyone who had duplicates pick other players? you can't go wrong with anyone outside of the top50 players.

or draft?
