This was a HUGE signing...3 years ago.
Right now you lost Tony Richardson and Willie Roaf, which were 2 of the biggest reasons you could put any back in the KC offense and run the ball. You have the league's weakest WR corps and Gonzalez is aging and not the best TE in the game anymore. And who the fuck did you draft again? Nobody worthy of mention.
You've actually gotten WORSE this year. You'll be thankful the Raiders are in your division when the season ends, to save you from the cellar.
As much as I hate to admit it, you're on to something with the WR take, which goes hand in hand with the OL, unless of course KC is playing Denver and Eddie Kennison is on the field, healthy. That aside however, even if Roaf is gone, the key will be injuries, or a lack of them. KC was decimated by them last year, and
still almost made the playoffs.
I like the Chiefs' schedule just fine. If you want to be the best, you've gotta play the best. I'd much rather have a "tough" schedule in the regular season than get punked in the first round after playing a "weak" schedule. Yeah, as if it has mattered in the last 15 years.
Besides, who in the NFL doesn't have a "tough" schedule, at least on paper? You can't tell from one year to the next who the next Rams or Ravens or Steelers might be.
