And then what ... ?

And then what ... ?
Assume for a minute that the terror plot had NOT been thwarted and that another '9/11' (or worse) had taken place.
Assume also that it was determined to have been an AQ operation.
So what kind of 'response' do you think the United States would have to gettin' big-time shit on once again .... ?
I'm of the opinion (as I know many others are) that it's a matter of time 'til we're hit again.
So then what ... ?
Where do we go from there ... ?

Due to the size of this country and how generous we seem when it comes to allowing illegals in here, I to believe we will be hit again. I think our gov't has done a great job in disrupting cells and thwarting possible plots to this point, but we cant be everywhere. Hopefully, the arrests in Britain prevented the next "Big One", but I am not so sure.
If we are hit, I think we will know a lot more about it's constituents and their nationalities. If we find out that Iran, Syria or Pakistan are involved, then I believe we will not take it easy on them like we did Iraq.

Been around this road too many times with you Bace, it's a fucking waste of my time and yours. We disagree. You think I'm an idiot and I think you're a bigger idiot on this matter.
There's really no point in discussing it further. Invading Iraq, the threat Iraq posed, were notions long before Bush took the oath. The intelligence at the time pointed to it so much so that TWO administrations felt it was necessary at some point to do so.

At a news conference, Mr Reid said he was "grateful" for the help of the international community, in particular Pakistan, in disrupting the suspected plot.

Did you forget about the mushroom clouds over major American cities thing?Bizzarofelice wrote:Tom In VA wrote: Back Row Middle's Comfy Chair and Cozy Place.
Saddam and the people of Iraq were absolutely no threat to my comfy chair nor my cozy place.
George and Condi would be very disappointed in you.
There's a really bad guy running that country, and wouldn't the Vennies be a lot better off with some US style Democracy?poptart wrote:Geez, I KNEW a take like Sam put up was comin', but thought y'all could rise above debating the Bush/Iraq situation for the 7,348th time.
Can we discuss the topic ... ?
Bush - Venezuela ..... yeah, .... har har ...
Good one.
They'd probably welcome us as liberators and throw flowers at our soldiers.

Basically, an ineffectual one. A reactive one.So what kind of 'response' do you think the United States would have to gettin' big-time shit on once again .... ?

I for one am sure that the millions of Dollars in US Currency the Coalition Forces found and confiscated would have NEVER been used to harm American Citizens let alone help sponser Terrorist Cells in the US.PSUFAN wrote:I'm afraid what we've done in Iraq has not done anything to make another attack less likely. Iraq is "over there" "far away" and quite obviously lacked the resources to bring the Jihad to the America's. Ha! Like they could sneak past our Border Patrol.
Of course we do. It's how we do it best that remains to be established - and I know it isn't as simple as snapping our fingers, or bribing a few Kurds for photo-ops, or moving around a few piles of rocks in Afghanistan...poptart wrote:So are you implying that we need to be more 'pro-active' somehow ... ?PSUFAN wrote:Basically, an ineffectual one. 100% agreed.Credit where it's due here. If they really do have this thing zipped up, this is a big win for the intelligence community. They are to be congratulated.

I'm sure it had made other countries think twice about harbouring terrorists (see Libya.)PSUFAN wrote:I'm afraid what we've done in Iraq has not done anything to make another attack less likely. I hope it has, but I doubt it.
The rest will follow suit or be dealt with.

You're a big fucking crybaby Moving Sale and the facts surrounding Iraq's non compliance have been discussed. Nothing's changed. Save for the fact that invading removed all doubt and speculation and just happened to give tards like you more paper to make spitballs with.
