(!)I booked another national commercial this time with (!)

Post by jtr »

Meet the new Vonage guy! I booked a national ad for them yesterday, shooting it on Monday with my future wife http://www.lindaoneil.com yes I will be playing my prototypical stupid fucker role when, while seated next to miss oneil in her ferrari I tell her I don't know where the relationship is heading and then while getting out of the car I get hit in the head by a orange vonage box. I then come to my senses and take the box and the girl and live happy. Met her today at the fitting and she seemed impressed in my resume of current commercials.

Dog, if I had models landing in MY lap, do you think I'd be posting here ?

Sorry, you'll have to figure this one out on your own. Then come back and give US the answer.

I say you just drop the, "hey, what are you doing after this shoot?" line on her. Maybe she'll be in a horny mood and say, "you." If all else fails, put Viagra in her drink between takes.

...and yours... :D

jess,

My first response when I saw your pics (!)
was I want to be that blonde chick, followed by I want to be that creamy milk,

Then Diogenes posted and..

I swore that I wanted to be that couch or better yet, that mesh she is wearing and then the bed and finally I want to be her Right hand 2nd and 3rd digits!!

Do us all a favor and prove how good an actor you can be....

GET THAT GIRL .. if only for 1 night!!

I've been checking out the ucsc site a bunch lately(even though some of the Terrapin lyrics aren't quite right).

Was actually going to ask the Heads here if they knew any good discussion forums for Hunter's lyrics.

A person could spend a lifetime decyphering the vague yet clever literary/mythology/poetic refernces that he employs.

For myself, there's two songs that I've been giving thought to -- Terrapin(playing as I type-btw), and Franklin's Tower.

The Terrapin Suite, because there's just so much of it, from so many different eras and whatsuch. I'm of the belief that Lady With The Fan is a retelling of Carmen, taking some artistic liberties.

Using the first verse to invoke the Muse definitely sets the tone. And using a verse to reiterate that the Storyteller offers no judgement on the story, that he is but the messenger...brilliant.

And Franklin's Tower is notable, because it's the only song that Hunter has even remotely hinted at his meanings(no matter how vague). And that was only in response to someone else's commentary, and only after Jerry died. If one views it using the dictionary-definition of "franklin," it would seem that that tune just absolutely oozes American patriotism...essentially a "Happy Birthday America" message for the Bicentennial.

Hunter, to paraphrase(I think he'd be OK with it), essentailly says that any song "that delivers a clear, obvious message...sucks." Hunter believed the imagery conjured by music is unique to each indivudual listener, and to leave out the interperetation is to cheat the listener of unique imagery.

I agree.

But, I have been using "all that fancy paints as fair" to describe hotties lately. I've also been breaking out "strategy is my strength, not disaster" when I'm laying up on the golf course.

Maybe the next time I'm looking for a flamewar, I should start a thread entitled "Which of you to run me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?"

I can't figure out, if it's the end or beginning...
But the train's put its brakes on...

And since we've hijacked this abomination of a thread...

Another one that's been in heavy rotation is the 1st Set, 8/21/93. Autzen Stadium. Probably the most awesome Bird Song I've ever heard. Find it, if you can. Starts shakey, goes nuts later...very representative of that day.

Maybe I'm biased, since I was there, grooving like a madman?

But that was truly a magical day, and the best concert I've ever seen, by a longshot. Started early, and there was unseasonable rain showers at the start. Somehow the collective knew they could overpower nature, and a guy next to me even said "once everyone wakes up all the way, the energy coming from this building will evaporate the rain before it can hit the ground." Second set, the band broke out a bunch of the catalog that dealt with "rain." Sure-a-freaking-nuff, the skies cleared. It was pretty freaking spiritual, or at least it was after about 7 doses.

That was just a killer, killer week. Eat, drink, and watch Jerry...forever.

And I just caught a great visual of that chick getting Jess and his wanna-be competitor for King Geek to fight over her. THAT would make a great commercial. I have a feeling Jess would get slayed with a cardboard sword or something, though.
