Dismay in Lawrence
...about the University requiring full price tickets for babies.
When I first read the headline earlier today I thought it sounded unreasonable at first, but then I thought about it some more and it kind of makes sense to require EVERYONE to have a ticket. When you have a jam-packed stadium, it isn't really fair for the paying customers to be further crowded by parents toting their infants (and strollers, baby carriers, diaper bags, etc.) It isn't really a big deal when attendance is low, but when the stadium is nearing a sellout, there really isn't room for supposed 'lap-children'.
They should at least have discounted ticket prices for babies though.

It's not appropriate to bring your baby to a movie, period!Believe the Heupel wrote:People with babies need to start realizing that there's certain places that it's not appropriate to bring them to.
It is not appropriate to bring your baby to a nice restaurant. Applebee's is cool. Anything on the Duncan Hines list is not.
It is not appropriate to bring your baby to an R-rated movie or a movie that starts after 8pm.
It is not appropriate to bring your baby to a goddamn football game.
When you decided to have a child, you decided to make some sacrifices in your life. It's noble, but part of the deal is THERE'S SOME SACRIFICES.
Either get a goddamn babysitter or don't go. There's your choices.
This should be required reading for everyone living in Utah, but even if it was I don't think it would make much difference.
I couldn't agree more with any of this post. RACK!
FIGHT ON!

People ask me all the time. So, do you take your girls to all the SC games and do they have fun??? ![Rolling Eyes :meds:](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
Um...twin girls under the age of 3 would hate it and the people around me would hate me. Plus it would suck big-time for ME. Uh, NO, they don't go and WON'T go until they're at least 8.

Yeah. Why expose them to that criminal element of society....

Couldn't agree more.
I took my kids to a HS game tonight. They lasted 3 quarters. They're 8 and 5. It was a great time, but they had definitely had enough when we left. I've been careful not to drag them to games, because at the end of the day, I want to be able to watch the thing.
The last place I'd take a baby is a college football game. My mom was just telling me about a guy who had an infant at the PSU/Akron game...yes, the one that was played in Ernesto, in driving rain and 45 degree weather. The guy was talking to people around, saying "does he look cold"? Fucking moron.

Parenthood involves sacrifice, one of the sacrifices is not getting to go wherever you want with your kids. I don't want to listen to your kid cry while trying to enjoy a meal I'm paying good money for. If your kid can be quiet then great, if not then you need to get take-out. Even if your kid can be quiet he doesnt' belong at a rated-R movie. Seating is tight as hell at your typical college stadium. If your kid is small enoughto sit on your lap all game it likely means they will need baby-gear toted along and they will get fidgety over the course of over three hours. PLUS IT ISN'T FAIR TO THE KID. He/she doesn't know what the hell is going on, it is just a place with a bunch of big-people screaming their heads off. Plus I don't want some soccer-mom bitching at me about yelling because her toddler is there when THE TODDLER DOESN'T BELONG THERE.
Kids belong at McDonalds, the Zoo, Chucky Cheeze, family movies, etc. It is not the rest of the world's problem or your kid's problem if you can't/won't get a sitter to take care of them while you do adult stuff.
