I give PSU more of a chance than most do. I don't know what their D will play like or if they will come out in 3 man fronts and drop everybody back like they did v. ND, but their offense didn't look terrible.
I remember them running a couple decent looking screens against ND. That, and the fact that there is a RB just waiting to bust open a couple big runs on the tOSU defense make me a little nervous.
The OSU defense is waiting to be exposed/tested at some point this season. I just hope the offense will put up enough points that game so it doesn't matter.
after the STATEMENT that scUM made against ND....i look for THE Buckeyes to come out with something to prove as well.
if THE Buckeye TEs can make some early catches....that'll open up some lanes for Gonzo and Ginn downfield. Pittman and C. Welles will take it from there.
Defense? i don't think they'll take any chances. they'll respect PSU to almost a fault.
a "Tressel~Ball" game...again.

January 1, 2010....we're having DUCK for Dinner...
There are some videos of PSU wins over OSU. I love how they only post the wins!
Anyway, check out the 1997 video...replete with Enis bawling at the mic stand.
Enis was a head case, but he was the best RB PSU had since Curt Warner. Aaron Harris was also an incredible back...fast as hell, and overpowering. Without a doubt, they comprised the best backfield PSU has ever had, however briefly (Harris blew his knee out soon after that game).
PSU's crowd really took it to OSU last year. I think they'll be looking for some payback.

JoePa's Lions basically quit against ND. Once a team quits once, it doesn't take much to make them do it again.
That stings, but it's true. Derrick Williams was getting arm-tackled on kick returns in the second half. That is a sign of a demoralized team if there ever was one.

This game will come down to turnovers. Tressel knows this, and will call a very conservative offensive gameplan. Running Maurice (not Chris) Wells on 3rd and long is inevitable. Punt and play field position will be the norm. QB Todd Boeckman has been lucky all season that some of his more boneheaded throws haven't been picked off. Until last week. If any of that 3rd quarter bullshit from the MSU game creeps up in Happy Valley, tOSU will get urine-bombed outta the stadium. PSU should be able to move the ball on tOSU's defense, but probably won't get that homerun, game-changing play. I really can't pick a score for this one, but if the Buckeyes are to win, it won't be by more than a field goal IMO.
Rack the look-a-likes, one year late.

Mucho props to the Buckeyes, who really schooled PSU. PSU was outclassed from every observable perspective. I'm hearing some bad shit about how the PSU fans behaved, which really sucks.

Thanks for the props, PSU. I really didn't think the Vest was gonna be that aggressive with his playcalling, but I think the man is on a mission this season. As I predicted, Penn State was able to move the ball on our defense and exposed the middle of our D-line. Not a great game out of Lauranaitis, Connor looked to be the better of the two LBs. The key to the game was tOSU's offensive line play. Only one sack they gave up that I recall. Boeckman played his best game by far this season. He will need to keep up that level of play if we are to win out.
