I'm working on a movie based on the book "Towelhead&quo

Post by jtr »

The book/story is about a muslim 13 yr old girl going through puberty in Houston and having sexual experiences with two adult men. It's like a brutual collison of all the main stream controversial topics in the news these days, muslims and sex offenders.

At the same time it's a simple story of someone coming of age and going through strange times in their lives. We've all have or will relate to this story in so many ways.

They are just beginning to film this, but based on the book and that Alan Ball, the creator of Six Feet Under and American Beauty, is involved I can already feel confident in saying this movie will be probably one of the most controversial movies in awhile.

I'm thrilled to have a bit part in this cause of the potential it has to be nominated for a lot of awards.

Good luck with that...but who in the hell can relate to that? Not too many 13 year old Muslim girls from Houston trolling these boards...that sounds like a disturbing story. To me, sexual predators and pedophiles are more offensive and disturbing than religious fanatics that want to kill us...especially those that live among us.

You can say that only because the movie sounds like it'll be very edgy. That seems to be the only thing that wins awards. Taboo and contraversial subjects seem to peak the interest of the Academy.

With a bit of luck, Hollywood might get bombed and we'll never have to hear about shitty films like this again.

You just summed up in one sentence why most Americans think Hollywood sucks.

What a shit name for a movie, that guarantees no one other than the art film crowd is going to see it.

Yeah, bit like the art crowd went in for that Michael Caine/Rorkes Drift film: 'Bloody WOGs'.

I misrepresented it's plot

from the info page on it

"Plot Outline: A young Arab-American girl struggles with her sexual obsession, a bigoted Army reservist and her strict father during the Gulf War. Based on Alicia Erian's novel "Towelhead". "
the girl is not muslim. she is christian lebanese. and she only has what can truly be called a sexual experience with one adult man.

yeah, you failed to mention where the pathetic obese a-little-more-than-midly retarded virgin is needed to be lingering in the background slightly out of focus for 3.7 seconds.

Jess, just because you relate to having sex with two adult men at age 13, doesn't mean the rest of us do.

I'd have been here sooner but the small plane I was in hit a bird or something over Brazil. Totally scratched the paint and everything. I felt horrible for the guy.

Edth: Rav is going to the store. Do you want anything?
Achmed: Towelhead is going to the store? Tell him to buy himself a brain. (canned laughter)

Little children, pregnant moms
Lopping Domes off guys named Tom
Those were the days

And the rubble you saw then
Dismembered children and masked men
Mister they could use a man like Al Zarqawi again.

Targeting another mosque
Use a truck bomb - total loss
Lets show them who is the boss
