KC @ Shittsburg
Might as well get this party started early.
Does KC even have a chance here? Most folks wrote this game off as a loss when it showed up on the schedule, before the season even started. I was one of those folks.
Now, with Trent Green being a sideline coach and LJ questionable after having his freaking head nearly ripped off, what's the story line going to be?
I dunno yet and will reserve my call until later in the week when more info is available on LJ.
But, the pukers are looking vulnerable. Too much hubris, too much reading of their own press clippings. Over-confidence has bit them in the ass thus far.
Damon Huard has been nothing short of remarkable, even though his unreliable receivers drop too many damn balls.
The KC defense, despite a couple of breakdowns at AZ, has played lights out for the most part.
Should be an intense game.
Takes...bring 'em if you got 'em.

If you can't run the ball well, NO ONE that you are playing is a pushover. The Stillers aren't running the ball well. They could lose to the Raiders.
Don't let Willie Parker's #'s fool you. Yes, he's had a few 100 yard games, but he's NOT the gridning, beat you down type that Bettis was. Trust me... the Stiller coaches are still trying to find their running identity. Parker's not the answer. He won't pummel a defense into submission by late in the third quater. That's what won the Stillers so many games w/Bettis. The Stiller get a lead and then just pound, pound, pound until the defense gives and loses.
They've now got Davenport, we'll see how that turns out. They dipped their toes in the water with him last night and I wasn't all that impressed.
Secondly, the Stiller's O-line isn't performing like it is known for. Ben just isn't getting time. He's reluctant to take off and run and make something happen... something he was always very good at. I'm becoming more and more of the ilk that last year, Ben was an average QB on a great team. Now that the Stillers don't have quite the talent around him any longer, his deficiencies are rearing their head.

I could really give a flying rat’s ass that my Chiefs are a seven-point dog against your Squealers in the crib glossed for the near-ancestor pickle-mogul of the Howard Dean-sucking, John sKerry-marrying, card-carrying-ACLU-supporting, Liberal Cunt.
The Chiefs win outright come Sunday.
The bottom line is that your Sheet Metalers (flimsy stuff; bends at will) were an executed Grandma-ma pass block away in Dallas from calling in early January tee times in Scottsdale and watching my mighty Chiefs run the table.
Poetic Justice. The Jag-offs, Ben-wa’s, and Blots have all exposed Shill Coward, Bend Crotchrocketsbooger, Toy Tuiasopalumalu, and the rest of the Sheet Metalers as the Frauds that they truly are.
I’m calling you out, B, you Western New York, Band-Waggoning Piece of Crap,
Tell you what, B-enedict: Admittedly, I lurk more than I post. However, I will gladly wear your tag for a month in the improbable event that my Chiefs lose. You, on the other-hand, Mister 100-Posts-Per-Week, are only obligated to wear my sig ‘til next Sunday.
Dare to drop your codpiece? Or would that be a chastity belt?

While I'd love to see it I just can't see Pittsburgh losing 4 in a row.

Truman,
If I make a sig bet with you, you have to post at least 50 times in the month following the Steelers beatdown of the Chiefs. Agree to that and we have a bet.

Holy shit! The football gods decided it was ok to have KC visit Pittsburgh? That's totally unprecedented. The steelers have been the visitors in this series...what, 8 straight times?

Are you simply confused from pasting takes from so many different sources? Or are you just an idiot?

Even if he plays, he won't be at 100%
But it sounds as if LJ is going to be fine. Even though his rushing numbers have been way below expectations, he's still contributing in a big way in the passing game.

What was posted shows that Willie Parker has slightly better rushing stats than Larry Johnson. But if we add in pass catching:
LJ- 20 for 268 and 1 TD
Parker- 10 for 58 and 0 TD
Then thus far this year I'd say Johnson has been the more productive back.

Hey, I'm doing this for YOU Dave. This board is a better place when Truman posts more often. As for having faith in my team, I have plenty. That's why I want Truman to be posting with the sig I'm going to hang on him.kcdave wrote:Bri, nice way to totally puss out on a lame ass sig bet. Tim post 50 times in one month? Kinda like how you posted all those times with the sig you were saddled with when Pissburgh lost to Cincy?? Oh that's right, you chumped out on that bet.

I just checked that thread again. Quite frankly I had given up on you ever posting anything. Maybe next time you might want to post your sig earlier than say... 10:30 Friday night the next week? But just to show you there's no hard feelings, I'll carry it the rest of this week. Which is about twice as long as I would have had I seen your post last week.Shine wrote:Kinda like how you posted all those times with the sig you were saddled with when Pissburgh lost to Cincy?? Considering Davenport will soon be the new "Bus" I'd say the Parker v LJ debate is kinda moot.
Steelers are stuggling, but Cower always seems to find a way against us.
From the coulda, shoulda, woulda file - (one of the) Biggest mistake we ever made was letting him get away
I see a real snoozer

The Steelers are up against the wall in this one. 1-4 would be tough to surmount.
Deshea Townsend and Joey Porter won't be playing. Unless their replacements have career days, the Steeler defense will be suspect.

I'm not uncomfortable with McFadden replacing Townshend. Porter's situation is a bit more dicey, as James Harrison went down last week and is out for 2-3 weeks. His replacements are either Arnold Harrison or Rian Wallace.PSUFAN wrote:The Steelers are up against the wall in this one. 1-4 would be tough to surmount.

I'm not ready to call an 11 point Chiefs win in Pittsburgh until I see wether Townshend and Porter move from "questionable" to either "doubtful" or "out".
Still waiting on Truman.
PS: Just read that the Steelers signed Chad Brown. Pretty freakin rare that the Steelers sign back someone who's left via free agency. He's damn sure not an upgrade from James Harrison.

You crazy man.
It's not in Herm (never met a 30 yard FG attempt that he wouldn't galdly accept) Edwards to win a game like this on the road by more than one score, even if he could and should. That tight ass (and KC offensive play calling) will clench as fast and tight as a sprung steel bear trap the nano-second he gets so much as a one point lead. Hell, he clenches those cheeks when he's losing, for Vermeils sake.
I'm going waaay out on a limb here and predicting that KC barely gets over 16-14.
