Pick'em Games Cancelled For the Week...Again
Is this a safe assumption?

Lefty has gone AWOL. He usually has the picks to me on Wednesday.
Unfortunately, you are correct. Next week, I will begin putting the picks/odds together myself beginning Monday.
Sorry for the clusterfuck that is the pick'em this year. Just when I thought I was out....the pick'em pulled me back in.

What is it exactly that you get from lefty? Odds are posted by Monday (Tuesday the latest) so why couldn't you make the list using odds posted in any sports section? Just wondering...
Anyway, cancel the pick'em for the rest of the year - and severely increase the chances of winners so far winning the whole damn thing......
In.

Yes, I would bet Lefty is gone for good reason. I'm not putting this on his shoulders.
My work week has been hell and it is only getting worse. Putting the games together with odds takes about an hour. Like I said, Lefty usually gets them to me by Wednesday. He actually inputs them into my spreadsheet, not just sends me a link with odds. He saves me an hour and it takes me another hours to input everyone's picks and the scores. Excel does the rest.
Anyhow, I've had folks PM me saying they could help, if necessary. I will look to them next year as my work and home life has really kept me from taking the time to do this right.
Like I said before, I apologize. I know you guys look forward to this game, and I've ruined it for some with my lack of time and dedication to it. I should have let someone take over this year. I will do so next year.

I don't know why we don't just move this to a service like Yahoo College Pick 'Em? You basically have to pick every game played by top 25 teams against the spread. The number varies from 16 to 21 games. We wouldn't have the choice anymore, but at least we won't have two of our busiest members killing themselves trying to complete it every week.
I think that's a good solution.
We have messed around with some open source pickem games, but they have ultimately proved to be inadequate. Yahoo has, apparently, staff dedicated to building this stuff, and it's free. While the pick'em as it stands has been really fun, it would be good to see these guys freed up from the task of getting things together.
Less work --> More functionality --> more chances for PSUFAN to be a pick'em bitch.

Deadlines are 5 minutes prior to each game. Otherwise, I could change it to 5 minutes before the first game, but that can screw you if the deadline is Friday night.
