Are there any people of color in STL.?
I'm watching tonights game...and I watched last nights game...and so far the only persons of color that I have seen in the stands are Omar Minaya and Steven Tyler(thats a joke, but doesnt Steven look like he could be half Tibetan, half Cuban?). In fact most of the crowd seems like they should be drawing S.S.. No beer drinking slobs either.

Trampis,
If you do notice things like the color of fan's skin. Notice that it is not just in St. Louis.
The majority of Sports fans at sporting events are not dark skinned. Especially in baseball.
Yes, there are more dark skinned fans in NY but the ratio is not indicative of the community.
The ratio of "WHITE" fans to "Non White" fans at sporting events highlights the economic divide that is
a reality in the United States.

Sure, some friends have been pointing out that indeed the crowds look bleach white at these events. And, yes this is the case. At least in Oakland and S.F. And...?
Let me cut to the chase....
When Dick Cheney is properly swinging on a Nuremberg-like noose, his neck properly snapped, then AND ONLY THEN will we the people of this great nation reemerge into the free breathing air of decency that will allow our providence and heritage to prosper and prevail, that we should know the full measure of freedom and trust as engendered by our founding fathers.

Maybe so. When I used to live in the Bay Area, I would go to Giants and A's games all of the time. At least in Oakland, the right field seats were $5 every day. Great view all for $5.
San Diego when they played at Qualcomm... We would show up at the 2nd inning and leave by the 7th. I think we paid under $10 for decent seats there.
The shittiest ball park is Wrigley "stadium" ala Gordon... That place fucking sucks and the nig nogs by up all the tickets to scalp. It's cool to go there just for the venue, but the place actually sucks ass for a ball park.
Thought I'd help divert this away from Nick Frisco's atempt to hijack this baseball thread.
Oh, and STL is a very cool place. Y2K, SG, and a few others and I had a really good time for the short visit. East St. Louis is home to most of the criminal nogs. I'll bet some here don't know that the shithole in question is actually across the river in Illinois.

I know it's kind of late in the game to post on this, and to post without a racist joke...but what the hell.
What I know from St. Louis is from living there for 4 years...years ago, and also doing regular trips there over the years since to see relatives and friends.
My opinion of the place is that St. Louis is the most segregated and also the most racist city that I've ever experienced. It has it's modern aspects and a lot of great history all kinds of things like music and architecture and park planning, and has done a wonderful job reviving the downtown area...but in it's modern culture is a freakin hellhole. Split the city east to west with I-40 and you have everyone north black and everyone south white. A few neighborhoods in the burbs both north and south are mixed, but they are the rarity, and they are shunned by everyone else (both white and black) who liked it the way it was before anyone crossed the lines.
There is a reason that Busch Stadium is south of that line. They would never build north of I-40. It wouldn't matter if land was 50 cents per acre there, just wouldn't happen.
Spend a day in St. Louis and tell me that a racial conversation doesn't come up if you talk with the locals for more than 5 minutes about anything other than the weather. I dare ya. It's the weirdest racial environment I've ever seen. We moved away years ago, and I always forget about it until we get back there, but then the racial comments come up in almost every single casual conversation...it's like a thread in the whole fabric or something. And it's not just the white people, the black community has some pretty nice parts of town and doesn't welcome the whites who come around their section of town any better. No big violence or anything, just two separate parts who basically resent the hell out of each other.
Wierd place. The racial thing is very common to other cities, but the way they deal with it there just creeps me out.

See,at Mariners home games you see a lot of Asians, and people who generally have some pigment to there skin, such as they are "half" something, like half Pakistanee,Indian,Mexican etc. That and everybody wears earthtone clothing, greens, browns etc
There is absolutely NO cross pollination in Busch stadium. Those are some purebread white folks.

How in hell did this thread get reset anyway? I'm not sure whether to War or Un-War sifting thru 6 month old threads for what, exactly?
At my last home before the United States ran me, my next door niggbor was a former punt returner in the Canadian Football League.
He stood about 3 ft 9 and I'm pretty sure I could've kicked his snot out the side of his ear.
His wife called the fuzz on us one night when my daughter's friend parked her car too much in front of their house.
I thought it was April 1st or ..... 2nd at least.
But she was seriously.
CFL return boy's dog barked too much and I would have traded him for any playah to be named later.

And get them tight
So I can smack your bitch-ass
Out of sight
We're smacking together
If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you've got RTS
On the other line
Imagine how that gimpy freak would lose his mind
We're smacking together
I can't see me dating a skank like you
In all my life
When you're near the clinics will all be full
For all your life
Me and you, you on your knees
No matter how I hold your head
Don't use your teeth
The only thing I really fear is STDs
We're smacking together
Still smacking together

vic, i never pegged you for a busybody/spreadsheeter/cuda-type.
it really doesn't suit you, or at least
not the you that i recall.

brown as in cool & creamy & smooth mocha.
brown as in my favorite $4 drink from Caribou.
brown as in not the stereotypical, annoying,

besides that, i didn't pine and don't.
i (like most often) got my way and continue to do so.
and for the record, i hate most white people too.

i was around when the the big snakehead got chopped off and kidnapped/snake-napped it though.
i never find anyone half as interesting as you there,
i'll keep trying though.
