Which coach gets the ax first.

My opinion is that if the Az Cards get off to a slow start or underachieve Denny Green is toast. Second choice is Schotteneimer.

Your opinion is idiotic.

Except the part about Martyball being on it's last legs.

So if they sputter out of the gate just like last season which was supposed to be a "breakout" season thay Green WONT be on the hotseat? I beg to differ. Bidwell has little patience.

They 'sputtered out of the gate' due to having the most injuries in the NFL, including their entire starting and second string O-Line. They were down to their #4 Center on opening day. That isn't likely to repeat so your entire premise is a non-starter.And Bidwell is more about Greed than Impatience. He only cares about how many tickets he can sell, if he thinks a big name like Emmitt Smith, Kurt Warner, the USC headcase or Dennis Green will sell tickets, he'll go for them. The only way he fires Green is if he thinks it will improve ticket sales, and even he isn't that stupid. Now if it was Al Davis...

BTW, props to the Chargers new QB on his preseason debut. 16-21? not bad.

Of course, neither is 15-20.

Brian Billick seems the obvious choice to me.

I was contrasting, not comparing. Davis is all about the ego, Bidwell about the money.

Would be to me too, except a little combo known as McNair to Mason, a playoff berth and a win or two will probably snuff that right out.

Don't hold out too long on Mason in your drafts folks but you could probably wait until round 7 or 8. Well that's if you have a real draft.

Gibbs & Co. is the finest coaching staff in the league.

Or at least so sez Fox's Michael David Smith.

I've noticed your obsessed with the Rams lately - Picking them as worse team, etc.

why the hateraid on StL?

No way 1st year coach goes right on the hot seat - Makes the GM look bad if they do.

I think Billick and Schottenheimer are reasonable choices if they flop, I'd also lump in Jeff Fischer when things get really bad in TN which they will.

Lot of rumblings this is Cowers last year in Pittsburg - Though I really don't know why

Burnout is the most likely explanation. What is known for certain is that Cowher bought a 2 million dollar home in North Carolina and his wife and youngest daughter will be living there during the season. Also, the Steelers and Cowher have failed to come to a contract extension agreement. Now Cowher has 2 years left on his deal, but until this year the Rooneys have always extended Cowher when he reached this point in his previous contracts. Needless to say there is nothing to go on but pure speculation. But the Steelers are an organization that prides itself on continuity above all else. So for this deal to have not gotten done is a bad sign.

Well, yes. I think the subtext of the question was "Which coach gets the ax first (if their team doesn't win)?" Certainly no one is going to fire a coach whose team goes to the playoffs and makes a run. That goes for any of the coach named in this thread including Billick.

I don't hate St. Lou, Scott.
My brother lived there for 20 yrs and I spent a little time there.

I figured I better slam the Lambs while Paulie is on his vacation.
That and I just think their team will blow this season.

I think Jeff Fisher has a short leash. I think by drafting Young, they extended his contract 2-3 years. If after next year the Titans don't have a winning record, look for Fisher to be gone.

I wouldn't blame Denny Green for a missed blocking assignment and a running back failing to protect the football (the 2 plays which led to 2 Bears defensive TDs). But the fact of the matter is his much hyped Tardinals are sucking ass at 1-5 in dead last.

BTW, had the Niners not fucked themselves with turnovers, the Tards would be 0-6 right now.

As much of a dumbass as Snyder is, there is no way he would fire Gibbs. I am sure there are a few more diminutive black-listed actors for him to buy production companies for instead.

Th, 'Skins fan and DC media may bitch and moan about the season so far, but Gibbs leaves on his own terms. He's coach and team president.
The team went to the playoffs last year. And 2003 is still fresh in the mind of many a burgundy and gold fan. That fukkin' year we had the unsettling feeling of being fans of an organization adrift. Sold a bill of shit... sure, people have laughs about our new 700 page playbook but in '03 there was still the "$25 million playbook" that fuckbag from florida brought... which turned out to be nothing more than the fukking run and shoot which the NFL defensive establishment discredited by the mid-'90s.

All that aside, the problems right now stem from the players. Fire them? Sure. Then let Saunders max out Snyder's credit cards and the salary cap to get the personnel he wants.

Suanders doesn't need much. Just a QB and O-line depth. Hell, he could save money by getting rid of a few of the 3 or 4 unused #2 RBs. Gregggg Williams is the one who needs to max out credit cards in order to add youth to an aging D, th eD-line in particular.
