Key words, right there.
I have absolutely no doubt that if both teams are undefeated, when they meet this year, whichever network is doing the game will be promoing it and calling it with the tagline, "A national championship birth, on the line!!!!"
Terry in Crapchester wrote:Have you watched ND at all this year? Far and away, the offensive line has been the most disappointing unit on the field for ND.
Nope, he hasn't. ND's offensive line is the worst of any top 25 team.
And it's too bad that ND didn't get a chance to play an 8-4 confrence champ in their BCS game.

I like how getting a shovelfull of buckeyes jammed up your collective buckeyes by the Buckeyes worked out for ya'. You know, that same team PSU beat earlier in the season.
You are not that obtuse, killian. You're better than that.

Notre Dame beat UofM last year, what's your point?
And did you watch the Fiesta Bowl? I mean, more than the highlights? Yes, statistically it was an ass kicking. You'll get no argument from me about that. But that game was also in doubt with 4-5 minutes to go in the game. ND needed to make one play on third and long to get the ball back with a chance to tie, but failed to do so twice.
You're better than that, too.
Again, had ND been so fortunate to play the conference champ from a middle of the road BCS conference, perhaps ND's bowl record would look a bit better.

Tongue in cheek, Ken.
Truth is, every good team is going to have one (or more) ugly wins over the course of a season. UCLA was one of those for ND.
And if "ND really isn't all that," what would that say about Penn State? 41-17 ring a bell? (Btw, given that Penn State scored late, the game wasn't even really that close).
Penn State pretty much sucks. Next?
I must agree. PSU should have lost to Illinois. If the Illini receivers had not juggled sticks of butter during time outs, they'd have won that game going away.
ND beat PSU utterly, completely. Let's just leave PSU out of the comparative analysis, though.
ND was no problem for Michigan. UM spanked the piss out of them. MSU made them look bad too, before their swan dive.
I'd have to agree that ND is not "all that". A top 5 team plays like a top 5 team against teams like MSU and UCLA. ND didn't do that.

If yall wouldve been fortunate to play FSU?
Our D was insane last year.
Quinn wouldve been sucking on his sisters tit in the stands after the 1st qtr.
I am not saying FSU deserved to be in the BCS last year but they deserved it more than ND. Atleast we won a conference last year, what did yall do? Get beat by every team with a winning record on your schedule outside of the state of Utah?
ND is overrated and will lose to USC. After they lose to USC they will still get in the BCS and get beat....again.
PSUFAN wrote:ND beat PSU utterly, completely. Let's just leave PSU out of the comparative analysis, though.
I mentioned PSU only because of who it was who went to the overrated card viz. ND. If my team got spanked so thoroughly by another team, I'm not going to spend a lot of time dissing said other team. Just sayin'. But that's just me.

Nobody here is saying that ND is a top 5 team.

OU would have won the 2004 national championship had they not had to play a team like USC. Had OU gotten to play Michigan, I feel confident OU would be sporting an eighth national title.
Completely. But when a pot calls a tea kettle black, it's kind of humorous.

Well, my point is that you chose to use an example that was pretty, well... idiotic. That's all. Bang on PSU's foe in their BCS game all you want, but the fact still remains that PSU beat the very same team ND lost to in their BCS game.
I have a second point too: It is a restatement of my original one 'cuz I don't think it made through to you the first time... given ND's record in recent bowls, some of which many would say they were not deserving of, is piss poor. Seeing how BCS and many other New Year's Day bowl bids are supposedly given out to some pretty good teams, this is the most glaring, clear cut illustration that ND has been overrated.
Killian wrote:You're defense was "insane" last year? ND's offense was "insane" as well.
Damn, Killian... do a li'l homework.
2005
Points for PSU- 413
Points for ND- 440
And YES, Florida State deserved their BCS bid more so than ND, Killian. Cut me a break. Boiling it down to its most simple form: FSU actually beat a team with a winning record for the conf. championship.
Killian wrote:I guess after this weekend you could also spell "overrated", "Cal", "Tennesee", and "Texas". They all struggled with teams they should have put away early only to pull it out in the end.
After this week, you could add "Wisconsin" and "Auburn" to that list as well. Also, "Nebraska" and "USC", if the results in those games hold up.
Nice to know that all of these teams apparently get the benefit of the doubt in here, while ND does not.
War Wagon wrote:The first time I click on one of your youtube links will be the first time.
Oh STFU up, TiC.
When those teams start to consistently receive bowl bids they don't deserve and have to ride home on the bus standing up because there is a first down marker up their asses, you can talk.

Hey, if you want to get the ND cock sucked, you've got plenty of opportunities for that. Just tune into any sports programming...radio, tv, print, etc.

I seem to recall that during the run-up to the BCS in '04, OUfan said that what happened in previous years didn't matter when discussing what would happen this year.
Apparently, you didn't have a problem with that at the time. Is this yet another example of you holding ND to a different standard just because you hate them?

Not looking for that, just for equally objective treatment for ND is all.
