not a surprise that he's a state commit because that doesn't make any fucking sense. not having John L. around is good for a two win improvement in 07. dude can't put 1 + 1 together?

Not good.

That kid is really good. Had a chance to see him play on local TV, and he was a one man show, running and throwing.

Coming from a full blown redneck school that has nothing going for it other than football, he'll be one of those "I just want to play football," kinda kids. Likely no baggage or strings attached.

I can't say too much about him other than what I saw versus a routinely bottom feeding conference foe. But, it was evident the talent's there. My friend and I were sitting around tossing back beers, and for some reason, we landed on that game, mostly because it featured two high schools from the other side of the state -- the side I'm from. Certainly didn't expect Comcast Local to be airing a Lowell/Forest Hills Northern game in my new neck of the woods, but sure enough, we stayed tuned in because the kid was fun to watch. We weren't able to decide if he was more dangerous with his arm or his legs. Dude was dropping 25 yard dimes on the run, across his body, and when he decided to tuck the ball and go, he was very elusive, able to cut in between tackles on a dime. Like I said, he was a one man show. He was naming his first downs however he wanted -- and when he snapped the ball, it was going to be a first down. Actually reminded me quite a bit of Drew Stanton, only Nichol seemed to have the ability to throw with a tight spiral. Again, this was against pretty mediocre competition, but if rivals.com has him as their #5 dual threat QB, they probably know what they're talking about.

Apparently he had 3200 total yards as a junior. Not too shabby.

Cool, I thought this was about the stud Elite 11 qb from Texas... Brock Mansion(Cal).

Carry on.

Nope. You'll have to shoot your urine-uni-stained load in another thread.

Which means that the guy's a complete jerkoff. If people don't want to go to my school, then they suck as human beings, and they're traitors to the Crimson and Cream, and when they graduate, I don't think they should be able to get jobs in my state...

Wait... That's Tejas. If he doesn't like Oklahoma, and OU, then he's just a jerkoff.

Believe the Heupel wrote:To be fair, there were rumors a couple month ago that Mansion was sniffing around OU. The coaches and Mansion mutually decided that OU wasn't the place for him. Not saying that OU coaches wouldn't take him if he decided to switch, but I'm hearing there just wasn't a whole lot of interest either way.
If I were OU... I'd be after this kid like crazy. I'm not sure how recruiting goes with OU and Texas as far as private schools go(Justin Forsett) now at Cal.

But this kid is special... 6'5 225 and 4.75 forty and a cannon for an arm. and the kid is still in high school.

He also looks like a very solid kid.

Vid of Brock Mansion

I'd love to have him... but OU could use him more, since we already have 3 elite 11 qb's and Mansion would make 4. There's also a good chance we have a 5th elite 11 coming in.

Nichol might be the only guy in the state of Michigan who is upset about John LLLLLL getting canned. If that's the kind of coach he'd like to play for, he's got very low standards. Sucks for the Spartans if they lose their prized recruit...that ougtha put the pressure on Mason and the others involved in the coaching search to make a move quickly before Nichol finds another school.

That's the downside to announcing a coach's firing before the season ends. It'll be kind of difficult for them to bring in a new guy before his current team has finished the season. The upside, of course, is that dropping the hammer early can give you a leg up on the groundwork necessary to bring in the new guy -- see Florida in '04 for an example.

Wow, I haven't heard that. OU didn't even make his final cut last time around.

For all the crying Syracuse fan does about losing Dorsey Levens (18 years ago) and Mike Hart, it's amazing to me that they're not making a peep about Paulus. Any Syracuse fan who expects his school to out-recruit ND or Michigan on a regular basis doesn't have a realistic grasp on where his team lies on college football's food chain. But Paulus is a guy they could have, should have, gotten.

Fine. F'in' let 'em. Look what we did with one year of Thompson. :D

Imagine what we can do with a few years of a solid kid.

Wait...

..with Thompson.

Sucks for State...Dantonio recruited Nichol while at Cincy, thought he might still have a shot at hanging onto him.
