There's an amazing octopus at the Pittsburgh Zoo. I took a couple of pictures:
It really interact a lot with visitors. My kids get a big kick out of this thing.

I love calamari, but have never tried octopus. Taste like chicken?

It's pretty tough. Calamari is tender if you don't overcook it...but squid is rarely tender.

RACK.
The sole surprise concerning that blast is that one of the Louisiana guys didn't get to it first.

Nah, raw with cocktail sauce. Cause that's how I roll.

Mouse, I live about 1.5 miles away from the PGH Zoo, and with two young kids, we are there probably 35 times a year. As such, we always purchase yearly family memberships. Can't remember the exact price, but it's around $100.00 (about 12 6-packs of Corona or so).

That is a sweet deal good thing you take advantage of it. I hate when my friends buy the year pass for sea world and only go two times.
Do you have any more pictures? Do they have that machine that lets you buy food to feed some of the animals for only 25 cents per snack? I have been to the zoo twice and half the animals are hiding or inside since it is to hot in Texas. All you see all year round are the snakes in the cages, But living in Texas I can see them out in my back yard.
Is that zoo you go to the one they show on the news all the time? remember when that ape grabbed that lady by the shirt. was it at your zoo?

Those are real difficult to keep in captivity, or so I understand, props to that zoo.
I volunteered at the Indianapolis Zoo for a year when I was young. They had an octopus that escaped his aquarium and left never to be found again. Then they got another and the day it arrived me and a keeper went to feed it. She was patting its head in the water, when a tenticle came out of the water and uncurled up the side of her arm. She started to freak out and punched it. It released and retreated.
I think those squid hear about the dick suckings by mvscal and try and track him down, or so I understand.
I fucking suck.

Cool pics. Love the zoo. I've been to the Denver zoo and the Dallas zoo and neither came close to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. I figured bigger cities would have better zoos. Wrong. Come to find out the only zoo on the PLANET better than Omaha's is the San Diego zoo.
Henry doorly is right acroos the street from Roseblatt Stadium (college world series) if any of you make it there. Henry Doorly Zoo is unbelievable. We are fortunate out here in neckville.
