worst part about NL Cy Young

Post by Bizzarofelice »

isn't the fact that Webb won. He had a good year, albeit not as good as Oswalt and Carpenter.

The big problem I have is that Hoffman was 2nd.

Can the world stop with this infatuation with guys who only pitch one inning and only when his team is ahead by three or less?
why is my neighborhood on fire

Webb was fucking 8-8 the last 2/3s of the season.

Trevor should have won it. Don't tell me closing a game isn't hard or important. If it weren't hard, EVERY realiever would be above 90% in saves.

I picked Carlos Zambrano but I'm thinking the fact he walked 115 guys probably killed him. He was 4th in strikeouts, tied for the most wins, had the fewest losses of those who shared the league lead in wins, was 5th in ERA...and this was on one of the worst teams in baseball. He also gave up just 162 hits in 214 innings...the lowest number of hits allowed among the top 27 in IP. His WHIP would've outstanding if he didn't walk so many friggin' guys. I know it's not part of the award but he hit 6 home runs to boot.

They should have given the AL Cy Young runner up the NL award, seeing as no one really merited the award in the NL this year.

Oh well at least I can say I had a Cy Young winner on my fantasy team
