m2, would this be in reference to the litany of "classy posts" you've made decrying how Cal got jobbed in this game? (Which absolutely wasn't the case anyway...)

Or, would it be in reference to the stand up posts you've never made following ANY Cal loss in recent years, including this most recent one last night? We've sure seen lots of excuse making and finger pointing and all that fun stuff but what we've never seen from you is something along these lines...

"I was wrong. Cal again got trounced by a better team, period. We were outplayed. No excuses. We need to get better, period. We're not at their level yet. Apparently winning involves a whole lot more than having a few great athletes.

Dammit, we need to start representing our conference better. We gotta stop letting down the Pac 10 at every turn. When we play a real barometer game we need to start earning the high rankings we keep getting. We need to start earning our keep. 1959? It's been that long since we played in a Rose Bowl? 1938?? That's the last time we won a Rose Bowl?? That's fucking embarrassing!! No significant road wins?? That's fucking embarrassing!!

No matter how many great individual athletes we might have we still don't perform in tough games at anything resembling an elite level and until we do we don't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath with the major programs who have enough 'nad to win tough games.

This has to change. Until it does change, until we do start earning our keep, I'm going to keep my mouth shut where popping off about Cal is concerned.

Look, I'm an optimistic guy. The Berlin Wall fell. The Red Sox AND the White Sox won the World Series. Hell, Trent Dilfer beat Kerry Collins in a Super Bowl.
